Hey Jon,
Thanks for your reply, it may sound bad but makes me feel like much less paranoid knowing you had your surgery around the same time as me and are having similar symptoms. Hopefully you are right-I think our bodies are going into a bit of a starvation mode and conserving the extra fat for a future famine, thinking we are out of food because it isn't used to having this little. It is frustrating to be doing so "good" at your eating plan and not seeing the weight melt off. I would have thought I would have been dropping the pounds a lot faster eating so little but I guess that is the case. My port site is doing much better, seems to be a lot like what you are describing above about the pain in certain positions and when it rubs on things, or some of my clothes rub that area and it is sore for hours. But nothing like that searing pain that I had initially, it felt like the clamps that are in the muscle were ripping down the muscle and I truly expected to see blood running down my abdomen when I lifted up my shirt! My stomach growls constantly, it is making noises all of the time and I am like you, hoping that when I get my first fill it will make a difference. My surgeone doesn't do the first fill until 6weeks post op. Seems like such a long time to wait but guess it is typical. Please let me know how your first fill goes and if you are getting some relief from hunger. By the way, I was the same with weigh****chers, if I didn't eat my points then I wouldn't lose as much or even gain weight. My doctor did tell me that some people wouldn't lose weight by the first fill but guess I thought I was the exception with eating so little an avoiding anything bad. Plus when reading on the site with mostly RNY surgery patients it seemed like they had lost so much more weight than I have based on the weeks post op and how much they had posted. I know it is different I am just going to have to try and be patient and work with this new life that I have been given. Let me know how you are doing, thinking of you and wishing you success! Juli

Hi, Juli!
I appreciate your replying to my post. I, too, feel better knowing others are having port pain. It must be normal. Glad to hear your pain is getting better.
I get my first fill this Thursday and I will ask my surgeon about the port pain and how long I can expect it to continue.
I would be glad to tell you how the fill goes. If you don't hear from me, it means I spaced it out. Just give me a nudge and remind me.
BTW, my name is Phyllis. Jon is my surgeon. I should have signed my name like you do. Sorry about that. ;)

HI Phyllis,
Sorry about that one! I was just glancing on the page and saw the name Jon. I hope the fill goes well on Thur, I will check back to see how things are going if I don't hear from you. I look forward to the info. Hopefully this struggle with our weight loss journey is short lived. Take care and will talk to you soon! Juli
