I had my surgery on 12/10/2009 and I have only lost 38lbs and I am very frustrated.  I don't know what I am doing wrong, I don't drink right after a meal and I watch what I eat.  38lbs is nothing and I get so down in the dumps.  Have anyone else lost their weight this slow?

i'm a slow loser...but i have lost inches also ...i think slow is good....the faster you lose you get the loose skin no time to tighten it up.if you wanted faster you should have thought about a different surgery.....this one in not meant to go fast, althought there are people who have lost fast. just up your protein, water and movement....it will come just be thankfull you band is working, have you have any fills lately? maybe that is the issue...try the pouch test too...that will boost you into weight loss!

Man, I am not far out but I am starting to get down on my slow weight loss  too.  I've only lost 1lb a week for the last 3 weeks :(

I say embrace the 38 lbs you earned every single bit of it!!

I read right on my paperwork from the get-go that it should be a 1-2 lb a week loss, which does not sound like a lot and seems like it will take forever, but this is not a crash diet.  This is a slow process and a lifelong journey, so almost 40 lbs in 8 months is amazing!

every one here needs to realize that you chose the band and not the bypass . this surgery is supposed to be a slower loss. just keep on eating your protein and drinking water.....move more and see if that does the trick...sometimes we need to shake it up a bit and the weight will start to come off again.....just think where you would be if the band was not there....
and if you lose it slower ...no plastics!
