Hey Farmgirl, Wow you are doing so good. I just am so ready to get mine done also. I know i will feel better.
And my poor legs will too . Lol. Wont have to carry such a load around. No wonder we get arthritis. lol.
And I am so proud of you for more or less doing this on your own without a fill. Yep I will definitely be talking to you when I get my surgery. I will needs lots of advice on what to do, what to eat and all this good stuff. Hope you wont mind me bugging you lol.
Anyway I called my surgeons office and they were waitin on one test before they submit it to my insurance. All this time i thought they had already done that. Darn it. Oh well just a little sit back I guess. So now  they have it all. I called and stayed on phone today until I made sure it was faxed to them, So now it is submitted to my insurance. I hope to hear from it soon.
Also I have to go sept. 3rd for a 3 hour orientation and test, then i see the surgeon for a date if my insurance covers me. I am keeping fingers, toes and eyes crossed lol.
Keep on keeping on farmgirl. Talk to you soon. hopefully with good news. Take care your friend kenworthlady

I am 58 years old.  Having this surgery was the best thing I've done in a long time.  The surgery went fine.  I feel at least ten years younger already.  I have so much more energy it is unreal.  Good luck on getting your approval.

Hi Bandaide. Thanks for the reply. I have heard only good things here about the realize band. And I will be so nervous when my day comes for surgery. But I am ready to do this thing. I quit smoking and the weight piled on me. But I am ready to take it off.
You have done a great job. I hope I will be on the losing bench soon.  Still waiting to be approved.

I would really love to hear how the surgery went for you all, was it really painful, being older does it take longer to heal, and weight loss stories. thanks a lot. Your friend Mae
hey mae,  i had the lapband july 23,08 i've done well was walking the halls just after they brought me to my room after surgery . I was totally healed 4 weeks out  with no pain  started back to curves at that time lost 90 lbs.in the year and most of my medical problems are gone but still have some? but knowing that i have prolonged  my life and have joined a bunch of losers is okay ? i say thank you to dr.schmitt every day for saving my life? the only thing with the lap band is that you have to remember to chew ,chew, chew all the food that you put in that mouth and eat very, very slow?  and you should be very happy my name is judie and i'm from north florida, wakulla county?
i wish you all the luck and i  want you to be a loser like me ?   judie
