Too much protein can have negative effects, this is a good article you might want to check out:

yes -- too much of anything can probably be harmful

too much protein can lead to kidney damage/problems

my doctor recommends that I eat about 60 grams a day --- men generally need more than women

since the band does not cause malabsorption, we can get all of our protein needs through normal food

Once I started to get fills, I stopped using protein drinks (have one occasionally) and I eat protein at all of my meals (yogurt for breakfast, meat or fish for lunch and dinner).

I just spent the day researching just that topic.

There seems to be alot of controversy about the subject. What I have pulled from my research is that too much is really only harmful if you are diabetic.

I also used a calculator to see how much I should be getting...96 grams!! wow.
its basically your weight x .37

I believe my nut has us at 65-70 minimum. I was suprised by the 96.

I would suggest looking up some info and take from it what you can and try to decide what you think you should do.
I perosnally, will try to up my protein intake.

Good luck to you!
