Hi Tami!  Are you with Dr. T?  I just got approval today from my insurance!  It goes FAST once you have the baressentials class...

I actually meet with him tomorrow to discuss surgery options.  I was convinced the RNY was the route for me, but am here checking out the band again just to make sure I'm not missing something...

Good luck with your journey!

Hi Tina!  Yes I am going with Dr T. I hope the process does go fast because I am so excited. It is my understanding that Dr T's office does all the lag work for the insurance approval. Is this correct?  When did you start the process with Dr T?

It is nice to chat with someone that is dealing with the same Dr and to talk about our journey with. Good luck with your meeting with Dr T and he will guide you in the right direction on what option is best for you.  Please let me know how the meeting goes.

Talk to you soon!

Hey Tami!

Yes, the office does all the leg work.  I didn't even know they already submitted to insurance and got my approval letter yesterday!  I thought that would happen after meeting with him...

It was easier than I thought with the appointment today.  I was up most of the night praying and writing down the pros and cons of both surgeries and my habits... I finally came to the decision that my initial choice was the best one for me.  I thought I would have to "convince" Dr. T that the RNY was the best choice, but I didn't have to!  All I did was say that based on my research, habits, and BMI that I felt the RNY was the best option for success, and he agreed with no argument.  He did give me a little talk about the pros and cons of both, but didn't try to change my mind in the least.  He was VERY nice.  I had heard horror stories of his bedside manner, but I have to say I didn't get a bad vibe at all.  Super sweet and soft spoken...

I first contacted their office on March 27th, and had my initial exam with Liz on April 23rd.  Baressentials on May 11.  First psych with Mickey on 5/22, first with Maureen on 6/5... so it went VERY fast once the process started.  The hardest and longest wait was between the call that they accepted me in the program and finally getting going...

I'm going to friend request you so we can keep in contact.  I'm sure we'll run into each other at the support meetings!
