FLUORO Question

Good Afternoon,

I am going to post this here and on the Lap Band site. I have been researching the band and today is the first day I have heard that you may have to do fluoro along with the fills. Is this true or does this depends on the doctor.

Thanks

This depends on the doctor.  My doctor does all my fills under fluoro.  I actually like that my doctor does my fills this way.  He always makes a comment about my band being in a good position and no errosion.  So he checks other things other than just the amount of my fill.  that said I guess I don't mind because I'm not planning nor can I have children any more.  I would be very wary if there was a chance I could be pregnant.

HIJACK!!  What does a flouro fill entail exactly?

My doctor inserts the needle into my port (practically painless) and then has me stand in front of a x-ray machine.  I then have to drink that awful barum stuff.  He starts filling me and then checks how the fill looks on the x-ray.  He watches how fast or slow the barium goes down.  That's it and the whole thing takes less than 5 minutes.  My doctor is quick.
