Realize over RNY

Has anyone had the realize band over gastric bypass? If so, was it covered by insurance?

the nut/nurse in my surgeons office has the lap band over her RNY she said that alot of insurances will cover it but it has to be necessary...speak to the surgeons office and get the codes and call your insurance and give them the codes(cpt codes) and thewy can tell you if it is covered.

Yep - I have "bob"  - band over bypass.
I had to qualify again as I did for the original surgery.  psych eval, diet, bmi - blah blah blah.

Thank you so much for replying. When I went on the Realize website, it had alot of comorbidities listed. Was you BMI over 40 or what comorbidities did you have? How much weight have you lost?

I was also just approved for that procedure and will have mine on September 14th

If you dont mind me asking, what comorbidities and insurance did you have?
