First weigh in: lost 17 pounds!

I am so excited to say that I have lost 17 pounds.  That is crazy to believe for someone that has struggled with losing 5 gaining 10 or more their entire lives.  Good luck to everyone.

Awwwww, bless your heart!!! I am really happy for you, as I know exactly what you are talking bout. Man! I can't wait to get my band on the 7th!!

Hi...this is my very first post.  I noticed you are getting your band on Tuesday.  So am I.  What kind of diet does your doc have you on?

Hi Skinnyontheside (cute name by the way)

I am mainly on liquid, but I have been going strictly by the sample menu they gave me, which is as follows:

Breakfast:
SF carnation instant breakfast
Yoplait light any flavor

AM snack,
Atkins advantage shake.

Lunch,
Campbells soup at hand classic tomato
SF jell-o chocolate pudding
SF jell-o gelatin

PM snack
8 oz V8

Dinner
1/2 c lf cottage cheese
1 C cream of mushroom soup (strained)
REgular popsicle any flavor

Bedtime snack
SF fudgesicle.

I can get no more than 130 to 150 carbs per day and 50 to 60 grams of protein. No more than 1800 calories a day.

Let me tell you, when it's time for that cottage cheese I LOVE it!! lol

Good luck on your surgery tuesday. If you want we could be band buddies since we are being banded on Tuesday. I also am recording my progress on Youtube.

Oh I started my diet on June 27, and I have lost so far 6 pounds. I thought it would be more, but hey, as long as I am losing something!

Hi Paulette,
I would love to be your band buddy.  We just got back from spending the weekend playing in Los Angeles.  Unfortunately with my family that means lots of eating.  My daughter is a college athlete and my husband can eat anything and so food is a all part of the fun.  I am feeling guilty that I went along with it, but my doc says liquids on the day before only.  I wanted to do more and if he had said to, I would have.  There is a telling statement.  Are you spending the night at the hospital?  I will send you a good luck note tomorrow.  What time on Tueday is your surgery?
