3 days post op and 9 lbs gone
Well I was banded Thursday afternoon, all went well, I was in the operating room for exactly 1 hour. Spent then night in the hospital just because I live 4 hours away from Dr. Steely. Went for nightly walks every 2 hours up and down the halls. Went home and have been walking/resting and drinking my liquids. I am a little sore still, especially where the port was placed (the incision is a little bit bigger than the rest of the trocar incisions) but other than that I am doing great. Walking really helps get rid of the gas post op...Just thought I would share!!
HI,
So glad you had a great/easy experience. I got banded on Wednesday and was sick for 2 days....yikes. But today is Sunday and I am feeling MUCH better. I am keeping my liquids down however I am HUNGRY! I know my dr. office told me that I am on the clear liquid diet for a week but I am going to call them tomorrow and ask if I can at least havea small protein shake! I am down about 9 pounds also! Yeah we are on the path! Hope we can stay in touch!

PS....are you tired also? I go for walks but come home really wiped out from them.

Dr.Steely had me on full liquids before I left the hospital. So I have been drinking slowly some protein shakes, and I do walk for about 10 minutes then I am wiped out, Dr steely told me that I could put 8 ounces of skim milk 1 tbsp low fat peanut butter and 1/2 banana in a blender for a shake that has lots of protein. It makes 2 servings though I wouldn't try it all at once. Also I am feeling really full however, my friend Melissa was banded on the same day as I was and she is so hungry she is about to cry. She is contstantly sipping on beef broth and eating sugar free pudding......I hope this helps. Please send me a friend request so that we can keep in touch...
Hi Friends,
Thanks so much for checking in with me. Today was hard again...just SOOO darn hungry but I am sticking with the clear liquid. One more day (Tuesday) and then on Wednesday I am on protein! I am SURE I will feel much better with something other than broth! My stomach still feels a bit bloated but it is getting a little better each day so I am trying not to worry too much about it! It helps to just chat. Sorry this is so short it is 9:30PM and I am beat...time for bed! YIKES.

Surgery went well, post-op in the hospital was fine. But, before leaving I had broth and jello for lunch and it just didn't sit well. I've been feeling bloated for the past ten hours. Fever of 99. Stiff neck that just developed. Swollen glands. I'm not a happy camper. I got Roxicet for pain control, but I'm debating whether or not to take the next dose. I don't want to mask anything that may be brewing. Doctor's instructions on leaving the hospital were to call if the fever went to 100.5. Should I suffer in slience?

Hey guys! I was banded on the 9th so I'm right there with you. Have you noticed how each dr gives different postop diets? My dietician said clear liquids for 2 weeks but my dr said I could drink protein drinks. I have lost 8lbs and I'm so excited. I'm glad everything is going so good for everyone. I have already been back to work. I've also started pureed cream soups but I only have 1/2 cup. That is all I can hold. I was on full liquids for 2 weeks preop and lived on protein shakes however, I am not tolerating them as well now. Has anyone experienced diarrhea? It only happens after I drink a protein drink. Thanks for all of your experiences. It makes it easier to hear how you're coping.
