I got my band on Tues and other than the gas, I felt ok.  But starting last night I have been having diarrhea.  It comes on fast and strong.  I was expecting to be constipated. Has anyone else had this?

Might be all the drugs they gave you during surgery that is causing the diarrhea. Not sure really. Not everyone has constipation after surgery. I didn't...
I was quiet regular to my surprise.

If you continue though, I would call the surgeon to make sure everything is going well.

Good Luck!!

I was told in my pre-op class to expect diarrhea - as they put it "liquids in - liquids out".

Congrats on getting your band!  I get mine next wednesday...i'm so excited.

Good Luck on your journey

I had my surgery last Friday and have the same issue --

I think it will come and go for a while considering that we are on all liquids for now.

I am hopeful that once I start mushies, that things will be more normal.

It took me almost 3 months to get regular, so be patient.  Even now at 6 months out, I still get backed up sometimes.  Prunes are my friends.

I didn't have any problems, it actually made me more regular...

About 2 1/2 weeks out I got a bad virus and had puking and diarrhea....the puking lasted for a day and the diarrhea lasted for 5 days!  If it continues go to the doctor and get a prescription.

Hope you feel better soon

I don't know for sure, but I suspect, that sorbitol sweetener causes this sometimes for me.
