Yes, because it is newer, very successful. Plus Realize has a great site to keep us motivated. It even has a virtual body which shows your loss....has a lot of tips, and helpful suggestions. I feel it is a lot safer than any other weight loss surgery. Also the doctor and his staff can monitor my progress by logging into the Realize site.
I did a lot of research on the Realize band, and attended the seminar which convienced me even more to have the Realize band. I had my surgery Monday, and cannot even tell I have a band, other than the fact I have 5 small surgical sites and am sore. I have not felt hungry, and sleep well. Farmgirl58

Also, there is less likely of port flippage because the Realize port has metal "fingers" have hold to your ab muscle AND is sewn on. Also, the tubing is one entire piece, so less likely have leaks (unlike Lapband whose tubing does come apart, if needed, but can cause a leak).
