I had realize band surgery Jan. 7, 2009. I have lost about 41 lbs. I have not had a fill yet. Will I ever feel full? I feel like I can eat anything I want. I don't do it because I don't want to gain my weight back. Will it ever get better? What is the norm for weight loss. Thanks

first of all...your doing great....why haven;t you had a fill?
the restriction will come after a fill and you will not be able to eat certain things....sliming and pbing is not fun....your body will tell you that

I went to the doctor early March and he told me that since I was doing well he would wait and maybe do a fill this month. I guess I'm getting anxious and want the weight off. I know I did not gain it overnight and I will not lose it overnight. Maybe I need encouragement. Thank you very much for your reply.

At your next appointment I would ask for a fill.  Yes, you are dong great.  The only thing is you want the band to work for you not you work for the band.  This is why we haven't been able to keep up many diets in the past.  I'm not saying don't work at weight loss.  What I'm saying is you doing all the work will have you stress.  Allow the band to work with you.

I am having my band put on in 1 week....next Friday.  How did you lose so much weight if you have not had a fill yet?

I was on a liquid diet about 14 days before surgery and I lost about 15 lbs. The rest I have lost since my surgery. I basically eat what I'm supose to eat. I have eggs for breakfast, 4-5 ounces of protein for lunch and dinner. Sometimes I may have wheat crackers or a spoon of something to taste. I drink 64 ounces of liquid per day. The last few weeks have been hard because I believe I need a fill. I feel like I can eat anything, but I don't all the time, I stick to the plan. I do not want the gain back the weight I have lost. I have done some walking but not alot because I have problems with my ankle. I have inflammation in my tendon. Hope this helps. Good luck on your surgery. I pray eveything will be successful for you.
