Steriods ??????????

Since my surgery I have had two episodes of URI (upper respritory infections).. I have sever allergy problems that easily turn into sinus infections or respritory issues. This time the doc wants me on steriods, but I am terriefied. Steriods usually make me gain weight. I go for my first fill next week and am really looking foward to this. I am enjoying the weigh loss last think i want is to gain weight..
Have any of you had to be on steroids? How did you handle it?

I have been on steroids, but it was pre-band. I'd say discuss your concerns with both you surgeon and dr. In the mean time, I'd say, so to the Lap Band board and post this question and you'll probably get more responses.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, I've had to be on Prednisone a couple times since my surgery. Just keep sipping on the water and discuss with your doc if you start noticing too much gain. I tried to talk my doctor out of the steriods, but they gave me a choice: 1. take the steroids or 2. Check into the hospital and be placed in an oxygen tent. I chose option 1!!!
