I eat rice and pasta. I have only eaten the rice at the mexican restaurant though and I know that isn't as "sticky" as some types of rice. I have eaten several types of pasta (mostly through lean cuisine meals) and haven't had any problems as long as I chew really well... The band is a try it and see type of thing...... Good luck!

I eat both and some breads too. I make sure that my Protein is first and then any fruit/Veg. I tried the whole low carb thing but honestly just making sure my protien is enough for me. I haven't had any trouble with anyting (yet) however my band is also still empty.

waiting for revision from band to sleeve surgery date!!
Thanks everyone. I will see what happens. I did not want to eat it if I shouldn't. My daughter got me a rice steamer and it makes yummy rice. Not sticky at all. I like to put salsa and cheese on it. I also got a veggie steamer for Christmas. I cannot wait till fresh veggies are available to try it.
Thanks again all for your help. This site rocks!!!!!

On Valentines day I had about 2 spoons of rice and the rice didn't sit well at all, made my pouch hurt. My NUT told us that if we wanted rice and pasta to over cook it, as they will still absorb liquid after the way that they are supposed to be cook. I personally can't stand overcooked rice or pasta, so I stay away from it. Breads when I eat any are usually whole wheat and I do eat multi grain crackers with tuna and such.
