Anyone had to deal with a slip?

hey everyone, I'm waiting to get an upper GI done to confirm whether my band has slipped up onto my esophagus... right now I have 9ccs (in a 10 cc band) and have 0 restriction. I've never actually had restriction. So, I was wondering if anyone else had a slip, and if so, what they did about it?

I haven't had a slip and I hope you don't either but I had to comment on how many cc's you have... I have 6 and no restriction and I'm deathly afraid of getting to 9 and still not having any... I do have a little, but I can still eat pretty much anything I want. You have done SO well w/out restriction. I am so proud of you :) You have to let me know if anyone w/ realize has had a slip, I'm very curious. And you have to let me know what the doc says about your band. Maybe mine has done the same thing........

Yup, please keep us informed.  I am in the exact same boat as you (except I have had minimal weight loss) and I have 9.7 cc's in my band.  I still ask people "what does restriction feel like".  Seems crazy to me!  My surgeon has not been very proactive about finding a problem and I feel like his nurse thinks I sit at home sipping milkshakes everyday.  Very discouraging.  I finally got up the courage to ask for a fill under floro and currently waiting to hear from their office when that can be scheduled.

wow I'm so sorry to hear that. If my doctor wasn't paying attention to me... well, that would make this dynamic SO much worse. As it is, he's been very responsive, even if his staff is kinda inept at scheduling. Is your band 10 ccs too? or more?

Im at 8 of 9 and my restriction is minimal! They took out the fluid to ensure i had as much as they said, but other than the ocassional food getting stuck, its like i was never banded!

Let me know what your dr says cause i may need to check mine as well!

I have the Realize Band as well....many people say that it is a 9 cc band but my Dr. says that it is a 10 cc.  I have faith in my surgeon and he told me that if there is a problem, he could fix it.  I did have a x-ray to ensure the position was good about 4 months ago.  Stillllllll waiting on some contact to schedule the fill under floro.  Keep me informed of what is going on with you.  I wonder if a lot of Realizers are having this problem.

I know I am. My doc told me I have a 9 cc band,  but I really don't know. I'm at 6 and getting ready to be at 7 and we'll see how that goes. I've noticed there are few people who have had their band longer than me so it is so hard to judge. I have only seen one( tommiejean_27) and I know you are almost to capacity and you are not happy. That worries me...

I have a question, I thought they sew the realize band into the top of your stomach, is this not true?  thanks..
