Hi!

I'm pretty new to the boards.  I had the Realize Band put in on 2/12/09.   It was actually kind of tramatic because I also had my gall bladder removed, a hernia repaired, a liver biopsy, and the band put in the same day.  I then stopped breathing on my own, so ended up in the ICU.

That being said --I'm really starting to feel better now.  I'm 12 days out, I've lost 21 pounds since the beginning of the month (did the 8 day liquid diet), and I'm excited to sit on the loser's bench.  My ultimate goal is to lose 100 pounds.

I don't know a lot yet -- still have a million questions -- but I'm glad to find ya'll here . . .

Have a great day!

Hi Amy! I'm Crystal and I would like to say congratulations on making such a big decision to help you on your journey to losing weight. I come here every day and find it very helpful when I need to ask a question or vent and I also like answering other people's questions cause I know how huge support is while you're deciding about banding and especially after. I'm made some great friends on here and some people I talk to daily. Feel free to e-mail me if you'd like to talk

Hi Amy,
I was banded on 2/17/09. so I am right here with ya'.........
I started on soft foods yesterday and am having alot of pain in chest. I am eating slow and not drinking before. My BMI was high @ 65, the doc said he had to cut out more fat around my diaprham and esophagus so my recovery has been painful. Just hang in there. I keep telling myself each day will be better. I see my doc for my one week visit tommorrow. My ultimate goal is to lose 225lbs. I will weigh tommorrow --- we will see?????? It is great to have this website as support because each of you know what we are going through. So hang in there and keep posting.

Thanks guys.

My goal is to lose 115 pounds.  When I got on the scale yesterday -- I'd lost 26 since the beginning of February.

I don't think it's typical . . . and I realize it won't continue to come off at that rate.  In fact, I don't want it to because I want to tone and shape along the way.  I am, however, hoping to keep it off if possible. :)

One day at a time.

Hi Amy,

I am a new poster to OH as well, although I have been checking the site off and on for the last few months.  I have gotten so many questions answered just by reading the questions and responses from people like you.  I am scheduled to be banded 03/16/09.  Like you, I want to go it slow to try to tone as much as possbile.  Just out of curiosity, I am in CA where are you located?

Good Luck,

Ann
