Almost there - just waiting on endoscopy

I'm having a Realize Band as soon as the insurance hurdles are done.  I've done the 6 month diet (hit and miss), psych eval, nutritionist eval, copies of sleep studies, heart echos and 3 year weight history from GP.  Since I am having a revision for a Gastroplasy with a failed stape line, we've got to have the endoscopy to prove it to BCBS.  If we find what we are sure we will, then it's all about letting the Insurance Gods approve it.  My understanding is that they will auto reject it when they see I've had a procedure before (they didn't pay for it), and then the doctor's office has to appeal.  What a crappy process.

Man, I am ready to get this done.  I had really hoped to have it by the first of the year, but what can you do?  I'd really rather have VSG, but the insurance doesn't pay for it.  Plus, getting the band done now on their dime leaves me options in the future if I decide to follow up with a sleeve.

Since I had the Gastroplasty back in '81, I remember how restrictive it was from day 1, not like the bands, and I'll be wanting the surgeon to be aggressive with the fills.  I'll have to get my brain around what it feels like to feel full because I don't want to go through the initial vomiting like I did before.

Anyone here have their band as a revision to another procedure?
