Clothing Alterations
I'm no seamstress, but I'm also just a college student and therefore 1. can wear whatever I want and 2. don't have a lot of extra cash to devote to between-sizes. Does anyone know of a book or articles at least that teaches the basics on clothing alterations? I have a sewing machine, and my shorts were uncomplicated enough for me to figure out on my own, but I'd like to be able to try it with some of the outfits that I really liked. I've really just started to lose but I'm down a size/ size and a half and if I can sew as I go that makes everything all the better.
Thanks in advance,
Ann
As someone told me lately, everyone deserves the chance to fly!
Have you tried looking into some of the technical schools there for evening classes on sewing? Also Books A million has Sewing for Dummies book, very simple to understand, the title has a book for just about anything anyone wants to learn to do....also some of the parks and recreation depts of some cities offer basic classes in everything from sewing to auto mechanics....good luck..farmgirl58
