new to site.......I am Keri

Hello all
 I am Keri (31). I had the realize band surgery on 20 nov 08. I am doing well post op wise. I am a nurse and work on a ob/gyn floor on a military post.
 I am very excited about finding this site.
  I was at my highest about 7 months ago, 280lbs, and have been my lightest at 225. I alway**** a platue. After months of trying things and diets, it was time to decide the next thing. Lapband was great decision and I would love to have any advise, encouragement, and offer anything I can offer as well!

 This website provides you with plenty of information & it is a great way to connect with other people who may be experiencing the same problems or concerns.  I had my surgery on 11.11.08.

Hi MOnet, my name is Sonja.  I had my surgery on 11.12.08 so it will be cool to compare aches/pains/grunts groans etc    I am new to the site as well as Keri so anything and any advice is helpful!!!

I got excited when I read your post and saw that u used Dr. Steinberg. I attended his seminar 2 days before your surgery. Congrats to you on making this BIG step. How did you like Dr. Steinberg? I was very impressed with him and I have an appt with him on Dec. 12th for my 1st consultation. I would love to talk to you more.

I am Tara and I will have my surgery Dec 2 I am a little nervous well alot and alot excited. I am on the Atkins diet which my surgeon puts all his patients on 2 weeks before surgery. So I am having headached because I just don't like Atkins other than that I am trying to stay focus and positive. I can't want to join you on the losing bench soon.

Congratulations!!  I had my realize band done March 27, 2008.  Best thing I EVER did.  So far i've lost 77 lbs...   its definitely slower than the RNY but definitely worth it.   Good luck to you and keep on posting!!

I was banded nov 5........Most certainly the best decision I have ever made (less the head hunger)!   This site is AWESOME, so much good info and GREAT people to talk to!

I really struggle with the head hunger!  I am going for another fill next Tuesday.  Still don't feel full.
