Pain at the top of my rib cage- just a sore muscle?
I'm almost three weeks post-op and yesterday I noticed a growing sorness right at the top of my rib cage on the left side. Its a dull ache, but it was enough that I rubbed it without realizing it and that I wanted to take advil. It seems to not really be better or worse today. It especially hurts as I take a deep breath which makes me feel like its a muscle thing, and it hurts more to exercise. Anyone had this happen? My port and only incision are middle of my stomach, maybe slightly left but at least 6 inches away from where I'm feeling sore.
As someone told me lately, everyone deserves the chance to fly!
I had the same experience and no one could figure out what it was. I was told that it could be my gallbladder but when they scanned it they did not see anything. My pain was right under my right rib cage and it was worse when I took deep breaths. It did go away and I have had only one other experience since the first episode. I was told that it had nothing to do with the band surgery but had never experienced this before the surgery. My port was not near the site of the pain but on the opposite side of where the port was located. My first experience was in August and my surgery was in June.
i am 17 days post op, i TOO get that sore feeling under sternum. i know that a scope was placed there because of the scar. i started working out, push-ups/weights, today and it is a little sore. to me it feels like gas or indigestion, ot maybe I have to burp. My Dr. puts his patients on actigall starting the 3rd week post, that has seem to help that feeling.
I had the same pain on my left side, right where my underwire hits, after surgery. There was no cutting there, but I think it may have been some type of bruise or sore muscle. I was not bending over due to the 5 incisions and sleeping on my back for the first time in years, so I attributed it to body ache and dismissed it. My was no longer noticable after the first 3 weeks.
