new to this forum
I had the realize band 3-19-08. For some reason my surgeon is going back to lap band now. I understand they are similar. I am at 8.9 ccs and still not feeling I am there yet! The fills seem to only work WELL for 1 week then I can eat 4-5 ounces with no problem! Many times a day. My weight has been the same for 4 weeks. I feel sad it seems to have just stopped

Hi Laura- Don't give up! I've plateaued big time. I've been stuck at 65 pounds lost for three months. I've had five fills and am at 7.9ccs. Your body needs time to catch up with your weight loss. I'm hoping mine kicks in again soon. I log what I eat and how much I drink so I know that I'm not doing anything wrong. Have you taken your measurments? I try to do that once a month. I'm loosing inches now instead of pounds so that has helped keep me on track. Good luck!

I had a whole body scan pre op and then 2 each 3 months post op. I know the inches are falling off. Even in my knees!!! strange--- I do go to see dr nov 11th. I will prob get a .5 cc again. He is just tweeking a tiny bit now since I have sooo much in now. It is frustrating now since it has slowed down so much. My surgeon group uses lapo band now and not realize They say they are having better results wth lap band. They tell us realize bander take much longer to get to the sweet spot and lap band gets there faster. I do believe that! I have many friends who have lap and they are getting better results faster than me. I was the first patient in my surgeons group to get realize band. They switched back to lap after only using realize for 4 months.
If a patient REALLY insists on getting a realize they will give them that but the band they use 90% is the lap band.
Also our on line support group has fallin apart. saddddd
So thats why i came back here. I did go to the OH semiar in Washington DC last month. It was great!!
