HI,  I am looking to get the realize band soon.  Can you tell me where the port is located.  Is it at your waist or higher?  Does it interfer with your pants at the waist?
Thanks,
Nanci

Hi Nanci. I was banded on Sept 30. My largest incision (where the port is) is on the left side of the middle of my abdomen and 3-5 inches above my waist line.  It does not interfere with the waistline of my pants. Hope that helps!

Nanci,

I was banded on June 10th.  My port incision is about 2 inches long on my left side and several inches above my navel.  It has never been bothered by my pants.  I will say, though, that when I lay down for my fills the port is actually several inches below my scar.  This ends up being on my waist line.  I had a bruise from my last fill and my pants pressed on it a little.  It wasn't a big deal, but every once in awhile when I'd bend over or was sitting for awhile it would be a little sore.  Of course, this only lasted while the bruise was there.  Good luck with the banding!

Different doctor's place the ports differently I guess.  Mine is the same as the others buth on the right.  The other day I was wearing my pedometer and was washing dishes at the sink. When I leaned into the sink, OUCH!!  Boy did that hurt.  It's like the pedometer was pressing into my port.  I had to move the pedometer.

Hugs,   Peggy

Nanci,

My port is also located on the left side by the large incision. As someone else stated that when I lay down for fills the port location is under my incision. However, if I was too tight of pants it does bother the port area, it aches so I try to make sure my pants are not too tight around my waist area. Hope that helps.

Hi Nanci-

I had my band on 9/25 and my port site is about two inches up from my belly button on the right side.  Aside from that area being (and staying) the most swollen immediately after surgery, I don't really have any issues with clothing interfering or bothering that area.  My incision is about 3" long and now that its about 95% healed I don't even know its there to be honest.

Best of luck to you on your journey!!
