I HAVE NONE!  My surgery was on Sept 17th.  I have had no probs with liquids.  I'm eating healthy and keeping up with the proper portion sizes but (1) I'm eating what I want (2) I know I can eat more if I want.  I'm just not getting full on 1 cup servings.  SOOOOOO my big question is.  Even though there is no restriction.  Is there still chance of stretching my pouch?

Hello I had mine on September 9th, I thought I did  not have any restriction either, but yesterday I ate half of a chick fila biscuit and I felt like I had something stuck in my throat about half the day. I have tested certain foods like, bread, dry chicken, steak and have no problem with any of it. I was  told if you did not stick with your NUT's plan that it may stretch your stomach and your band could slip.  I have lost 12 lbs since surgery and 11 lbs before surgery. I do get hungry at times and have cheated at times, just bites of things. Just chew, chew, chew and eat slowly. I go for my post op on Thursday and am hoping to get a fill. Hope this helps

I am curious too.  I had surgery on 6/24/08 and have lost 35 lbs.  I have had 1 fill so far and I am wondering if I will ever feel restriction.

I had surgery on May 27 and have lost about 40 lbs. I just got my second fill, however I still do not know what restriction really is. I eat slowly and when I start to feel full I stop eating. When you first have your surgery there is nothing in your band. What is keeping you from eating a lot is the swelling from the band be placed around your stomach. You will get your first fill on your first visit back to see your surgeon.

You are doing the right thing by not eating more when you know you can. As long as you are not hungry I would not worry about it the types of food you are eating. I can just about eat anything except a lot of bread, because it fills me up really fast.

I think you have to wait 6 weeks out before you can get a 'fill'. Just keep on eating small portions and you should be fine. There is some restirctions since the band is in place. Serenty

I don't think there's any chance of you stretching your pouch, just stop when you are full.

Well, you know that when your band was placed, there was most likely no saline injected.  You are starting with zero restriction and with a physician that cares about preventing reflux and heaving on your part, which can compromise your band...it's gonna be a few months before you achieve maximum restriction known as your sweet spot.
My Realize band was placed on June 25th and today I have lost 40 pounds and 6 inches in each my hips and stomach....that's three sizes....yaaayyy!!! me!  There was one month that I lost no pounds, ate pretty much what I wanted and still lost weight....it's not an overnight process so be patient, hang in there and it'll come.
Your band will hold 9ccs and it was at 6.5ccs before I could feel restriction in my swallows.  A friend felt it at 5.0 ccs, everyone is different....GOOD LUCK!!!

I was banded same time as you and I am only down 10 lbs.  I do not understand why some people are able to lose so much more - I do not eat much at all have just now gotten a fill so up to about 4.50 cc's in my 10 cc Realize Band.  I thought I would be down about 25 now - very frustrating but glad you are doing well.

I SPOKE TO MY SUGEONS OFFICE TODAY AND THE RN WHO IS A LAP BAND PATIENT, I ASKED HER IF THERE IS A CHANCE THAT THE POUCH CAN STRETCH IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ANY FILLS AND IF YOU CAN EAT ANYTHING YOU WANT.....SHE SAID NO , THE POUCH WILL NOT STRETCH BUT TO STICK TO THE DIET AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE BECAUSE YOU ARE STILL HEALING, SHE ALSO SAID THAT HAVING NO FILL IS KIND OF LIKE YOU DIDN;T HAVE SURGERY AT ALL, SOME PEOPLE FEEL A LITTLE RESTRICTION JUST FROM THE BAND BUT IT REALLY ISNT THAT MUCH OF A DIFFERENCE FROM YOUR  NORMAL SYSTEM BEFORE SURGERY
JUST THOUGHT I WOULD PASS THIS ON ,BECAUSE I WAS WONDERING TOO.
