REALIZE SOUND OFF!!

Wow... this is great! I am considering surgery (really, I am finding a way to do it as my insurance company is a whole other post)....  Discipline seems to be important. Grrr.  I have this awful grazing habit I guess I will need to kick pretty soon.! Congrats to everyone.... one pound down is better than 10 pounds up!

I had my Realize band put in on May 15th and am having my first fill tomorrow. I can't wait. I lost 10 pounds the first week after surgery, then put it back on because I was able to eat more, now it looks like I lost it again. I am unique as I am a post bypass patient from 3 years ago and had some regain. My surgeon felt the band would give me back the feeling of restriction again. I asked him about revision RNY surgery and he said that he hasn't seen much success with it.  I, too had a lot of pain at the port site post-op. There are days that I can feel it pulling and it hurts. I hope it gets better. Wishing everyone the very best! Lucy

Hi: I had the Realize Band June 5.  So far I am down 15 pounds.  I found out that I am allergic to latex so I am having a little problem with a place above my port site healing up.  I still have not gotten to the stage where i can have meats, I think that's late next week. One thing that I have not followed is if I went exactly by my doctors instructions I would get 5to600 calories a day, I was dying.  I am having a 3 more 2 oz meals, so I think I am getting around 1000 now.  Is that so bad? Let me hear from you guys.

I got the realize band on Valentines Day and I love it I have lost 74 pounds and feel great!!!! Charlotte

Got  realized 7/14/08.  Lost about 17 lbs so far, no fill.  My willpower is definately in effect. 
Still on liquids.

Hang in there.  Since having my 1st fill (5-15), I'm gaining and losing the same 2 lbs.  I had my 2nd fill 6/5 and seemed to be doing better, but lately I find I can eat more and am back to gaining the same 2 lbs.  Good Luck,

Hey guys.... I have a Realize band too, placed 2/28/08. So far after three fills, I have some restriction, almost too much at times, and have lost 15 pounds. I have been working too much and haven't been excercising as much this past two weeks so this month might be a slow month for weight loss. I just focus on the fact that the scale is going in the right direction, down, and that I'll never see those pounds again! I see all the gastric bypass people losing weight like crazy, but know that the Realize band is for the long haul.  Janice

Neat!!! I just noticed this forum after every hour cruising on OH! This is fantastic. I got banded, realized on Aoril 9th but haven't lost so much since surgery. lost 21 preop and total of 34.5, had second fill June 9th and feel some restrictio nwhich I love. Glad to see you al lhere, how muchhae you all lost POST OP?  Ellie
