Is WLS for me?
Hi there, forgive me for ranting, but I am in search of information which can assist me in life changing decisions I am faced to make.
I am 29, my husband and I have been dealing with infertility the last 1.5 years. I am 135 pounds overweight and am dealing with PolyCystic Ovarian Disease. I am on medication for Insulin resistance and high cholestrol. Yesterday, we attended a class on Invitro Fertilization and both were highly turned off by the process of the procedure (mainly the 700 shots and 5 uterian catheters, lol).
So, we talked about other options. The LapBand procedure as on of my options to help get the weight off and see if that helps my body recover from the metabolic hell I am in.
I ended up here after searching on Yahoo. Here are my major questions:
Has anyone gotten pregnant with LapBand and how does it change your ability to concieve and deliver?
Has anyone had infertility issues with PCOS and successfully got them cleared up by loosing the weight alone?
Anyone have problems with United Healthcare approving the prodecure?
