If that is truly all you're eating, you're probably retaining a lot of fluid. Mention it to your doc and make sure you keep an eye on your bp. Some fluid and swelling is normal (especially during the heat), but too much can be a sign of problems like pre e. Drink lots of water and maybe squeeze in a Gatorade here and there. It seems counter intuitive, but the more you drink, the less fluid your body will hold on to. Good luck!
My iron was/is pretty low and I'm terrible about remembering to take my extra iron.
As for weight gain, the healthier you can be now, the easier things will be after the baby is born. With my first two kids (one pre op, one post op) I gained about 20 lbs despite eating total garbage and I lost it all right away. I think I got a little over confident about the fact that my metabolism magically works when I'm pregnant. With my third baby I gained 30 lbs and now I'm left with 10 lbs to lose. I blame being over 30 now! I find that breastfeeding is tricky because I'm hungry all the time so it makes it a lot harder to be good about what I eat. I'm hoping to get rid of several pounds before my check up with my surgeon next month. Good luck!!
Good luck with your VBAC! I've had two and it is an amazing experience! My most recent birth (in March) was completely natural. It was hard work and definitely painful, but it really gave me an appreciation for what my body is capable of. With no drugs to have to wear off, I felt amazing right after the birth and had a great recovery. Hope you get the birth experience you're looking for!
I started my pregnancy at 170. Now @ only 18wks I'm at 194. I had my band unfilled 10wks ago. I don't know what to do. My diet is sm bowl of Special K protein in the am, salad with boiled egg for lunch, usually some sort of small dinner. If I snack it's peanuts or apples. I'm losing my mind and my clothes! And I still have 20 more wks!!!!
I'm a type 1 diabetic with an insulin pump. I'm 18wks, my insulin needs are pretty much the same, this is my third pregnancy. Around wk25 insulin resistance for me was a challenge. I am striving for tight control of my levels. Your MFM will be a big help with questions though.
amazing! you look fantastic!! 3 kids! wow! how is it? i am struggling with one. i am working out but i have to wake up very early to do so and i feel like i have no energy. i'm gonna see a doc bc i get fatigued every 2 weeks. its not normal. i really don't like being a lazy mommy. my son turned 18 months and i'm too tired to go outside and play with him. thats so messed up. i mean i have a much healthier relationshhip with food and i'm eating better and exercising. i'm slowly trying to get back to PP weight. but this fatigue is kicking my ass man. i don't know if its low iron or thyroid or what. but i know i want to set a better example and be more active. my next pregnancy will be totally different. i'm not just gonna eat whatever whenever just because i'm pregnant and i'm gonna continue to work out.
thanks for the update! i love the pictures!! :) enjoy your new baby! you look amazing!
I am 30 weeks right now and I too have been diagnosed as anemic... My ferritin and hemoglobin were both very low and I ended up doing 8weeks of IV iron infusions march through April ! I felt so much better and my hemoglobin was back in the normal range at 12.3!! Now my hemoglobin has dropped slightly and my obgyn has referred me back to the hematologist since he says the demands on my body will be the greatest in the coming weeks...so I'm betting when I see her this week I will be getting more iron infusions! Good luck to you!
I'm 9 weeks pregnant and my ferratin was 5 and my hemaglobin was 101 and my dr just told me I'm anemic. She wants to do iron transfusions, however, we are going to try iron supplements first. I feel like a bag of dirt, like a walking zombie...I could sleep all day.
Let's not talk about weigh gain and loss..lol..this is my 2nd post op baby and 4th in total and I am disgusted with myself and the weight gain. lol.
