Thanks! I'm staying pretty positive because it is very light, intermittent, and brown. I'll be interested to see what the doc says tomorrow when I call.
Congrats on your pregnancy! I did not have DS, I had RNY, but with both my 1st pregnancy, and now this one, I did have slow weight gain for first and second trimesters but it picked up thereafter and I had moderate/average weight gain, 29 lbs with my son, and will see what this pregnancy end result is in June. Like Alice said, your weight gain really does not accurately indicate weight gain of baby...you see some ladies who will gain 50+ lbs with pregnancy and have a 5 to 6 lb baby while others may gain 10-20 lbs if not less and have 9-10 lb babies. Has your OB expressed any concerns? Usually if so, they can do ultrasounds and other tests to check on development of baby and if they feel there is a failure to thrive/grow for the baby they will start taking other precautions/steps. As long as they are okay with it, you know you are eating/drinking well, taking your vitamins, etc I would say that things are well. Keep in mind you still hav about 7 weeks give or take left and that is when the baby really gears up for delivery and mainly just gains weight and develops lung maturity so you may see some gain in the home stretch too...Good Luck!
I really over packed the 1st time now knowing what to expect. I am going to try and keep it simple this time. Maybe a pair of comfortable pajamas for day after since I don't care for the gown after that, nursing bras, underwear-although I do like the mesh ones for while in hospital, something to come home in for me...like a maxi dress or yoga pants/jogging suit, a few basic toiletries (toothbrush, hairbrush, facewash, travel size shampoo/conditioner, lotion) although hospital usually has some/most, and then things like camera and charger, phone charger, and some reading material although never really had time to read with last one with all the visitors and commotion.
I would also pack the diaper bag for baby to include the coming home outfit, diapers, etc
Possibly implantation bleeding-especially if not bright red and light to dark brown in color? I had the same experience when pregnant with my 1st at around 6 weeks. Irritation to the cervix, such as after intercourse, can also cause it. With this pregnancy, they saw a subchorionic bleed during one of the initial ultrasounds, which was pretty big, so I was certain I would see/have spotting but nothing, ti just reabsorbed itself, but they did warn me that it could cause spotting as well. I am now 27 weeks with this pregnancy and all is well. Hopefully your spotting is as a result of something simple and will resolve and have no issues. Keep us posted and hang in there, as easy as that is to say....
I got pregnant 6 mths out RNY....was 155 when I got pregnant and was 172 at delivery.....2 wks PP I was 145....you can easily maintain a healthy weight gain while pregnant and have a healthy pregnancy. Congrats!!
Very frustrating...since I got my period back so soon with my other three.....I wouldn't be complaining....BUT....I'm no longer a spring chicken (I'm 35) and I want another baby so these two will be close in age (my first two are 12mths 1wk apart).....guess my choices are to wean or maybe start BCP's to bring on the hormones....(wonder if the mini pill would be enough to jump start my cycles again)???
Liam is one so it's not like he will go on formula, but it's just so much easier to just whip out a boob when he's hungry....easy to comfort...easy to put to sleep.....
I've had a little light spotting today. Just a few times, and not bright red. I'm hopeful that it is normal (although I've never had any with either of my other pregnancies). I'm planning on calling the doctor on Monday to schedule my first appointment. I was expecting that they wouldn't want to see me until eight weeks, but now I'm hoping they'll get me in for blood work or an ultrasound to make sure everything is good. Keeping fingers crossed!
That's my due date too!! Only I have a scheduled c-section for 4/24 due to 2 previous c-sections and my age.
I am post RNY in February 2010--I haven't had issues gaining weight I'm up a little over 30 lbs!
Typically your weight gain has no reflection on the babies weight--when I was pregnant and MO they would have been happy for me to not gain any weight.
