Topic: RE: Failed IVF

I didn't try prior to surgery, just after (and got married on my 18 month surgaversary).  It took us 5 years to get a take-home-baby.  It was my second IVF that worked.  I had 6 losses prior to that and even lost Ean's twin with that pregnancy.  For most, WLS is a godsend for fertility.  Then for some, it has nothing to do with weight.  Something else is amiss.

Good luck.  The first IVF is like a science experiment.  The next they will be able to customize and get better results.

Paula, I can honestly say I watch these boards everyday to see how you are. I'm TTC since 09 amd though im very frustrated for myself i find it so reassuring to see other wonan going through the same feelings and issues and I also like to see women who have had success. I am so excited and nervous for you! I know how I am when I'm thinking of every tiny little detail before i even test and it drives me crazy! So I can only imagine how you're feeling about it after you already got a BFP. you must be frustrated but i wanted to say im thinking about cha and I so hope everything goes ok. I'm crossing my fingers that you'll have smooth dailing soon.

I'm due for my 2nd IUI in two weeks (just started period on Monday. bummer) but I'm excited to see if we can get lucky this time! Trying to stay positive!

Search for CLOTHING SWAP in your area.

Also, I went to Motherhood and they had a sale on some of their plus size clothing...buy one, get one free.

Wearing a belly band or shaping cami, might help keep things "in place" and supported.  Congratulations on the pregnancy!

if i was  you i would wait. i  am 16 weeks pregnant and i gained  5 pounds in the beginning then  i lost 15 pounds.  so i would  wait until you actually need something then go buy it.  i am  all into  saving as much money on clothes as i can.  also  value village and goodwill has   dollar days  or 50% off days  if you don't want to pay full price on  stuff

Topic: hanging skin

Hi Everyone, I am  16 weeks  pregnant and i have lost over a 160  pounds and still have  a little ways to go before i reach  my  goal.  i am not worried about weight gain  i  just want a healthy baby.  my  question is i  have all  this hanging skin around my  stomach.  when  i i  lay down  it is  uncomfortable. i find myself trying to hold  on to it to make it  stay in place  so its not pulling.  Does anyone one else have this problem or have a solution  to my problem? thank you for  reading this and i  would love to hear any advice you guys have for me. This is my first child so i can use all the advice i can  get. thank you

Topic: Update (new update)

This has been the longest week of my life!!  The "easy" answer would be that I'm still spotting and things probably don't look good... but of course it is never that cut and dry.  I would definitely say that what I'm experiencing is more like light bleeding than true spotting, but it still hasn't been enough to need anything more than a pantiliner, so definitely not full miscarriage status yet.  Still having lots of normal pregnancy symptoms, and no real cramping.  I've taken a few pregnancy tests, and they're all still positive.  Light, but positive.  I haven't had any really dark lines since my first pregnancy, so light lines are typically not an issue for me.  The intellectual part of me knows that I should be giving up and moving on, that it is probably over.  However, the mom side of me isn't ready to give up on my baby no matter how bleak it seems, I just need to hear the fat lady sing before I can call it over.  Being in limbo all week has been really hard.  I did end up going for blood work yesterday, and will go again tomorrow.  Hopefully the answer will be pretty cut and dry, if the numbers are ambiguous I'm going to scream.  The icing on the cake is that my husband is out of town for work all week.  I really just need to have a moment to have a meltdown, but with two small kids at home, that is a luxury I simply don't have... and so I wait...

Last night (Wed) I passed some tissue around dinner time and knew it was over.  I felt oddly relieved.  I think after all the stress of the week, I just found some peace in knowing that I had my answer rather than the constant wonder and worry.  I still went for my blood work today just so I could hear the official word from the doctor.  Instead of doubling in 48hrs, my levels dropped by 50%.  Taking a month off to let my body recoup from the back to back losses, and hoping to get in during that time for my annual which would have otherwise been in May.  I'm hoping to get everything checked out before trying again after April's cycle.

I would say try St. Vinny's, Goodwill. You can usually find cheap maternity clothes there. Also Ebay and Craigslist. Bigger clothes looked akward on me, maternity fit well and I didn't look like a blimp.
