Hello
I am about a little over 2yrs post op from my DS surgery and I just found out I am 6 Wks Pregnant, I have been taking 100000UI of Vitamin A in the Retinel Palimate form to keep my Vitamin A levels Normal. With all the research I did on the internet it says that this level of Vitamin A can cause birth defects and other problems. Anyone out there that can give more infomation or share thier experiance would be much appriciated. I did get blood work done on my Vitamin A levels and I am waiting till wednesday for the results to come in.
I follow the Vitalady Vitamin Plan for DS surgery.
Any Advice would be great.
Thanks
Hello,
I am planning my surgery 3 months from the birth of my daughter. Did anyone have surgery so soon after? Breastfeeding issues?
Thank you

It is noticed that one in seven couples these days has some kind of fertility issues, which become barrier in experiencing parenthood. When they seek medical help sooner or later, they get treatments recommendations like IVF. Success rate of this process have improved dramatically in the last few years with the evolution of embryoscope http://www.emolinks.com/story.php?title=ivf-embryoscope-time -lapse-system and other advanced equipments.
My blood sugar has been dropping a lot too and it drives me crazy I feel so unstable! :(
I take prefera ob prescription tablet prenatal vitamins and a regular centrum. I take extra folic acid. I've been trying to just eat enough which I probably am just don't feel like I am. Doc said to only gain 10-20lbs with the baby. I've regained 40lbs from 2010 rny. So I'm trying to eat decent, I have no desire for meat either. Fruit and cheese sticks sometimes. I've been nauseous 24/7 as well it's difficult! I'm only 8wks
Well this is a little concerning. I also have a Mirena IUD and have had it for about two years. I have never had any problems with it thankfully. My weight has fluctuated but it always has and I can always trace it back to my eating habits. I am having gastric bypass surgery in the next few months and now I am wondering if my IUD will cause a problem. Did your Dr say anything about people who already have it in and are going for WLS? I have an apt with my surgeon Wednesday so I will ask him for sure.
Thanks for sharing
Amanda
You and I had surgery just a few months apart. I had mine 1/31/13 and I just found out I'm 6 weeks pregnant with my 4th baby :) I met my goal weight last Jan of 118. I've since bounced up to 123 but I'm semi okay with that. I'm now weighing 125. I feel at this rate I'm gonna put on too much weight. I still have my restriction but I've read over and over that it totally goes away ?I've also read that as soon as the baby comes the restriction returns and just like the whole principle with wls, with dedication it's pretty easy to take off. Cheers to being pregnant and I can't wait to follow your updates!
Wow interesting. I was on birth control pills for 11 years up until a month before my VSG surgery (April 2015). I was told by my surgeon I could no longer take the pills due to absorption issues and got the Mirena IUD a month after surgery (may 2015). I lost weight steadily until September 2015 (down 68lbs from surgery 242 to 173 (lowest so far) but the past few months I have stayed between 176-173. I had one month of really painful breasts, and monthly spotting but no other side effects that I know of. I definitely have not gained any weight since surgery or getting the IUD in 8 months ago.
How far out are you? Obviously these things are different for everyone, but thanks for sharing your experience! I will keep this in mind in case I start to see a gain.

I'm 8 weeks out and just starting to work on it. I gained 40lb while pregnant, most of it towards the end. I'm down by maybe 4 but my eating is still off track.

VSG 2013, RNY conversion 2019 due to GERD. Trendweight here!
i'm eating about 1500 +/- 300. I started w/ a nutritionist but she is useless: telling me to wait 15 minutes after I eat to see if I"m still full...hello? If I could do that, I wouldn't be in this position. I have been upping my protein even more, which seems to help a little, but I am still quickly gaining. I've filled my home w/ easy healthy snacks so when I get up to pee, I grab the hummus and peppers/cucs/carrots, etc. I"m eating an entire garden a night. Was it difficult for you to lose the weight afterwards? How much did you gain?
