Hi, I have a lot of questions for pregnancy is fear of mine. I am still a pre op and i am not pregnant, I am not planning to have a baby anytime soon for i am only turning 21 at the end of the month. these questions are post op related about prevention, and when pregnancy does happen.
1) what birth controls did you use after the gastric bypass to prevent pregnancy? my husband and I use condoms and I use nuva ring.
2) how much weight was gained with pregnancy? I know it differs between people just scared to death I'll gain all it back from pregnancy.
3) was the pregnancy fairly easy food and nutrition wise?
4) has anyone had the surgery then plastic and had child a few years after plastics? if so how did it go, did it affect the any tummy tuck or breast implants? I ask this because I plan on plastics in 2 years after I get the GB.
thank you very much for reading and if you answer.

WIth my 1st pregnancy I did the glucose monitor for two weeks which involved finger sticks 4 times a day (once before breakfast and then after every meal). The machine tracked/charted the results and then the doctor was able to download them. With this pregnancy, I actually did the drink. Me personally, I do not always have issues with sugar and can tolerate pretty high levels (sadly) and being almost 10 years post op was willing to try. I did a lime flavored drink, same as orange in terms of grams. while fasting. Waited an hour, and then had a blood draw. I felt kinda queasy in the beginning but it passed after about 10 minutes. There are options as Stacy said to do it with a meal before, or there is also a 2 hr fasting. I have also heard of the jelly bean test too so it all depends.
You really just need to call the doctor and have labs or an ultrasound done and ask them questions!!!
No one knows what day YOU ovulated--the only way to know that is if you are doing temperature charting daily before getting pregnant or using ovulating predicting kits--the other poster is saying SHE ovulates on day 18--but most women ovulate on day 12 or 13 who have a normal cycle length---there is NO way after you are pregnant to figure it out--you can just figure out how pregnant you are thru blood work or an ultrasound.
Are you taking your vitamins?? eating an adequate amount of protein?? You ARE pregnant and need prenatal care!!!!!!!!!!
I found a decent underwire nursing bra at Target. Not sure of the brand, though. I bought one cup size up, same band size.
I agree with all the previous posters that you should call your doctor to schedule an appt. I also have PCOS and after doing fertility treatments with my first, who is now 5, and not looking like much success with this one, I was shocked to get a BFP. I had a cycle in July, nothing in August, which is normal for me, and got a positive on September 28th. I had no idea how pregnant I was but my husband was out of the country from beginning of August through Sept 4th. Initially, I was told I could be 10 weeks based off of the July cycle. However, with the u/s come to find out I was super early, like 4-5 weeks so had gotten pregnant when he came back. PCOS makes your cycles, ovulation, etc weird so only an Ultrasound will tell for sure. When you don't expect to be pregnant you can sometimes ignore the signs. I always found that it is partially mental, because seems like as soon as it was confirmed, then I noticed all the signs I may have ignored before. LOL One thing is certain, if you got a positive, you did ovulate. If you get a period, doesn't mean you did, but preggo, you did! Good Luck and keep us posted.
Thanks for the insight---with my last 2 babies, pre-wls I just wore very loose cotton sports bras but since surgery I have been wearing underwire bras and wondered what underwire nursing bras would be like since most of them are not underwire. I did buy a style at kohls that I have been testing but it's a racerback so doesn't work with all clothing!
Sorry to hear that! I can't imagine how frustrating that must be. Hopefully the urologist will have some answers (and quick easy solutions) for you.
