I'm sorry. Just like everyone else, just don't put a blame on you. I wish you survive the grief and it all will be good later. I wish that no one has to ever go through this, but unfortunately many do.
I wouldn't continue to beat yourself up over a decision you can't change. However, it doesn't sound like you trust your doctor. Have you talked to him/her about your concerns? If not, why? It sounds like you need to decide if you trust this doctor enough to continue to see him/her.

This is interesting because i gained 100 pds with a mirena iud. I also has many of the same problems with the exception of also incurring chronic bleeding and now sterilization. I wish mirena came with a warning label. Good luck to you on your Weight loss.
I'm 8 year's post surgery, and pregnant with my first child. While I lost a lot of weight, I was super morbidly obese before surgery. After a 50# regain, I went back to the basics, and lost 130# in less than 6 months. Not healthy I know, but it was very easy for me to get back on track once I cut out the carbs.
I'm now 36+3 weeks pregnant, and I'm having the worse diarrhea ever. I know that it's because the baby is sitting so low, but I'm worried about my baby compromising my already altered digestive system. I am going up 8 times a day, along with the hemorrhoids, I am completely miserable. Will this mess up my digestive system? I don't live near my surgeon, and my OBGYN knows nothing about the DS (she insist that it's the same as RNY). Other than the 3rd trimester digestive issues, I've had a complication free pregnancy, no anemia, no vitamin deficiencies, and although I have gained 35#, I am very confident that I can take it off by breastfeeding, and limiting my carbs.
How was your post-DS pregnancy? Any severe digestive issues?
Hi I am 4 months post open and doing well. One of my questions was it OK to get pregnant pistol sleeve, and how long out should you wait to start the process?
Just curious :)
Thanks
Right before my surgery was scheduled I thought I was Pregnant, ( I was feeling sick, and crampy) so I went to the OB/Gyn. She did a blood test and called me and said that I wasn't. I went ahead and got some birth control and had my surgery. My pregnancy results are listed on my online health record and came in at .7 hcg which is borderline positive, from what I understand. What if I unknowingly aborted my child? The OB/Gyn gave me a pill to force a period before she put in my IUD.
I'm almost 2 years post-op RNY and about 5 weeks right now - wedding rings don't fit, I've gained about 7 pounds of what I'm assuming is water weight. It's actually freaking me out pretty bad. :(
Sorry you went through this but glad you are sharing your story!

Hello,
I am planning my surgery 3 months from the birth of my daughter. Did anyone have surgery so soon after? Breastfeeding issues?
Thank you
all I know is you have to wean your baby from the breast before they will do the surgery.

Hello! I'm 6 weeks pregnant and 3 1/2 years post op VSG. This is my first pregnancy and I already feel huge. I've only gained 3 pounds but I must also be bloated because none of my clothes fit! Glad to find a few ladies here who are also in the same boat. Looking forward to hearing all your updates and being able to support each other!
