For me the pill did not work. I'm almost 7 weeks pregnant and 8 weeks post op.

Figured this board might be a good place to ask...

What did you use as birth control after surgery? I am fine with waiting 1-2 years before ttc (i want to be at or close to goal). I've heard stories of the pill not being effective post-op, but my surgeon said it would work the same, even though my fertility would probably increase.

Would like to get other thoughts? Did anyone's surgeon have a different opinion?

I was also told the pill is ok. I have been using it since surgery as my only form of birth control and it is working just like it always did- great! :-)

I am going to have an ultrasound at 36 weeks to check size since we are uncertain of my dates and my  boys were both large and I am a scheduled c-section due to age and having 2 previous c-sections.  Currently scheduled for c-section at 39 weeks but neither OB nor I think I will make it that long--I have an apt Weds this week, 35 weeks assume will start internal exams this week.

Hi,  this is my first kid i am  19 weeks .  to me its  more of a balancing act because  i just hit my  one year in weight loss and its still hard to try to get what  need  and what the baby need. I think if i knew what i know now i would of waited longer because i had two major  surgeries and got pregnant in the same year. I just feel like my body has not  had the time it needed to heal. Every person is different and everyone needs are  different. I cant  comment on the weight loss part yet cause i haven't had the  baby.  I can say i have only gained  2 pounds so  far. some people say they haven't gained anything. Good Luck

Topic: RE: Glucose test with out drinking orange drink?
My midwife gave me the orange drink for the glucose tolerance test. She said to drink it an hour before my next appointment. I asked her how much sugar is in it, she said 50 grams. It's supposed to be consumed in 5 minutes. I'm not going to do the test because I think it will make me very, very sick. I plan to ask her to monitor my Hemoglobin A1C levels instead.

I really liked the digital ones, because there was no interpreting the results. They clearly say "Pregnant" or "Not Pregnant."
