Topic: RE: Transverse at 35 weeks-anyone?
Thanks for answering my questions. I appreciate that. =) I'd like to have baby #2 in a year or so but the TT was a concern of mine. Thank you for putting my worries to rest. Good Luck with this delivery. I'm sending tons of positive energy your way.

Thanks Again & Best Wishes

Good luck! I hope you can stay positive. (It makes life a lot easier). I just started my period after a very disappointing miss with timing and our IUI two weeks ago. But I'm also trying to put in a happy face and be excited about trying again in a couple weeks. I wish you all the best of luck when you are taking all the hormones. I just have my own hormones and I'm going crazy! Lol good luck and keep us posted!

Topic: RE: Vitamin regime?

I had RNY and just stayed on my regular vitamin routine (2 multi, 3 calcium, 1 b12 and 1 iron****il my iron dropped then we doubled it.  My ob's only real concern was if there was adequate folic acid in my regular vits which there is so I didn't change anything.  And my blood work has continued to be good.

Have you asked your OB/gyn?  When I was pregnant with my 1st two preop I went on a prescription prenatal because then I got 3 months for one co-pay!

I haven't had any issues and I'm almost 37 weeks and just had an ultrasound yesterday and everything is good.

Of course I'll talk to my doctor but I wanted to know if you all had heard of any issues with continuing to drink protein shakes while TTC/pregnant?

Particularly the sugar substitutes?

Thanks!

Topic: RE: Post-op birth control

I resumed the pill the day I was cleared for liquids. My doctor said as long as I was not having excessive diarrhea or vomiting (as with anyone) the pill would be protection enough.

My support group people encouraged a backup method.

We used 2 methods for about 8 months when I felt certain if we had an oops! I could eat enough to maintain a pregnancy.

I think too, it grately depends on the type of surgery you have- malabsorption issues and all.

Topic: Vitamin regime?

Hi Ladies,

I will be 2 years post-op VSG when we start trying in a month or so and I've just finished a bottle of my regular Centrum chewables and thought I'd get some prenatals next. I'm wondering which prenatal vitamins you like?

I asked my dietician about taking 2 since I was told to take 2 regular vitamins (although I rarely get more than 1 in a day, if that) and she said to ONLY take 1 prenatal. All my bloodwork is good :)

Of course I'll ask my ob/gyn when I see her but I'm curious what you all do/did.

So I'm looking for recommendations and also which vitamins you took?

Thanks!

Topic: RE: Post-op birth control

I'm 2 months post-op now (55 pounds down, about 70 to goal). One of the main reasons I had the surgery was so we could eventually get pregnant but I am concerned about getting pregnant before a year out (when my surgeon said we could start trying).  I am using the NuvaRing because I heard about so many people using oral contraceptives that still got pregnant (due to absorption issues likely) and we didn't want that....but this NuvaRing is really giving me a rough go making things not fun and actually hurt.  Then today I've also read NuvaRing isn't as effective if you're over 200 pounds (which I am). So, now I'm contemplating going to oral so we can enjoy again and just let whatever happens happen.  I've read so many stories of healthy pregnancies and babies earlier out than 12-18 months so I guess if it happens it wouldn't be the worst thing ever right?

Uuggh...just so hard to decide what to do. Seems like everyone has had completely different experiences. To bad there isn't one good answer. :)  Hope you decided what to do!

I am just shy of 32 weeks right now and baby is also transverse, similar to position you mentioned. Right now, no worries, but curious to see what they say at my ext appt in 2 weeks. I have not had an ultrasound but doctor just did a manual check. Emad was the same and did not flip until the few days before I delivered, which happened at 37 weeks. As you know, I also had the TT, so curious to see what happens. I really do not want a c-section so hopefully works out and hoping the same for you. Keep us posted.
