Hi All,
I'm a little more than a year out but have lost almost all the weight I should and it has slowed down to about .5-2 lbs a week. After we confirm a couple vasovagal episodes aren't anything serious, I've been given the go ahead to try to have a baby again.
I tried for 5 years before RNY with 4 IVF cycles and 2 chemical pregnancies. I'm wondering if I should jump right back into treatments or take some time to try naturally as my surgeon suggests I may be hyper fertile. Did anyone here get pregnant naturally after WLS when ART had crashed and burned?
Update. I took a clear blue digital test and i am indeed pregnant!! I have/had pcos and was told i wouldnt be able to concieve. I am beyond blessed and so thankful for this opportunity

So i took an hpt today because im 5 days late and got a faint positive. I will retest in the morning but im wondering if all post op pregnancies are high risk? Im 4 months out and down almost 110 lbs with about 55 more to go. What should i do and avoid (foods, exercise, etc)

I've eaten a whole box of cheese nips in the last 24 hours! It's terrible. I'm 1:15 months out and 9 weeks pregnant!

No problem. I don't come on here often either. Way to go on your weight loss!!! Keep it up.
The only thing I see that is not desirable is it's been hard for me to gain weight so my doctor is keeping an eye to make sure baby is growing the way she should.
I know what you mean about a new baby but adopting is just as magical like you said. Good luck w/ everything and thank you!!!
Thanks for the reply, I haven't been on here in a while. I'm a few days over 5 months post op and down 84lbs yay and just 42 more to go to reach my personal goal of 140lbs. I'm so glad your pregnancy is going better than previous ones. My husband had a vasectomy almost 2 weeks ago and I have very sad mixed emotions about it. Nothing beats that feeling of that brand new baby being tossed up on my chest and I'll never have that again. We will adopt though and that will be magical. Good luck and congrats on the new baby!
was your period irregular before surgery? how was it after? i have PCOS pretty severe and my periods were BEYOND irregular and since surgery i have had 3 regular periods... were you on birth control after surgery as suggested?

Yes my surgeon definately knows ! He was the one that suggested a high risk OB so they could work together. Unfortunately no food options have been talked about yet since I can't keep any foods or drinks down. :/. But we are trying as hard as we can !
Well technically it is recommended for you to wait one year before getting pregnant. I most certainly would not recommend for you to get pregnant anytime before then ! With the surgery it makes it a high risk pregnancy and a little more complicated. I honestly thought the samething after I got my surgery and my husband also got kind of upset thinking my end goals had changed since one of the main reasons for the surgery was to lose weight. But I'm kind of glad it happened now so that way after I have the baby and continue my weight loss I can get my plastics done ! Best of luck on your surgery ! Your about to embark on an exciting adventure.

I got pregnant 13 months after VSG, and I was queasy 24/7 for my entire first trimester. It SUCKED! Dehydration made it even worse, so I carried a water bottle with me everywhere I went and tried to sip as often as I could.
Make sure your surgeon knows that you are pregnant, and s/he can help advise an eating plan. It's important to get quality nutrition for the both of you, and you'll need to adjust your vitamins as well.
