New and TTC

I had my first WLS in 2000. I was RNY. The doctor gave me a revision in 2001. But the weight came back and by 2008 I was almost 300lbs again. I had my DS revision in 2008. Lost down to 190 and now I am 243lbs. My starting weight was 412+ so I guess this is it.

I eat low carb and high protein. I follow my vitamin regime to a "T". I have had two knee replacements and had one ovary and fallopian tube removed due to endometriosis.

I have been trying to conceive and because I am perimenopausal, it's difficult as hell. SO.

I am planning on going the UIU route, using donor sperm. I will discuss all of this with my GYN and primary doctor in the coming weeks. I am hoping to make the first attempt in April of this year.

In the meantime, I am going to fortify my body, change a few medications and set up a support base for myself. I am single and BiPolar. So I'm going to have too switch to Lithium and basically use an anxiety pill to help ward off episodes.

That's it for history and plans.

Are there any vitamins anyone can recommend that I should be taking besides adding Folic Acid to my routine? Here's what I take -

Calcium 1,500mg

Vitamin C - 1k

Vitamin A - 2x a week

Vitamin K - 2x a week

VItamine D3 dry - 50k a day

Vitamin B12 - sublingual

Vitamin B Complex

Multivitamin

Medication wise I am on: Zoloft and Latuda presently along with Xanax. Thus the switch to Lithium, which I did good on in the past, but also gained a TON of weight.

What would be the type of menu I should follow if/when I become pregnant?

I've had iron transfusions in the past. Should I consult a hemotologist once I find out I am pregnant? Is there a likelyhood that my anemia will come back?

Iron pills don't work for me, I would need an infusion if I am anemic again.

Any advice or similar experiences are more than welcome. Thank you

I had my first IUI on January 5th, and it succeeded. I had my RNY in NOv. 2008.

I think the one thing I would add is to switch your multivitamin to a prenatal.  If you get one with DHA it can help with depression.
