Hey ladies,

I had gastric bypass about a year and a half ago and I am now 3 months pregnant.  I'm scared that I'm not eating enough. I've really been deathly tired for the past week or so and I'm not sure if this is normal just because of the surgery.  This is not my first pregnancy and I don't remember ever feeling this tired when I was pregnant with my other kids.

I weighed 194 when I got pregnant (8 lbs from goal), went down to 189, went back up to 193 and today I am 191.  I'm honestly not hungry and pretty much have to force myself to eat.  I still log my food on MFP and yesterday I only got in 700 calories.  Should I start shake supplementing again?

Thanks for any advice,

- Shaw

Every pregnancy is different.  It is probably just normal pregnant-tired.  With my first I wasn't tired at all, with my second I NEEDED a nap every day just to function, with this one it depends on the day.  You're probably just fine.

When I found out I was pregnant I was at around 750 cals and my nut wanted me to get close to 1100 cals. I am now 31 wks and usually around 950-1000 cals and baby is doing fine. My ob dr and bariatric dr both told me only need about 300 extra cals to supplement baby. Just talk to your dr and see a nutritionist if needed and you will be ok. Just remember baby will take what it needs from you no matter what you just have to keep yourself hydrated and nourished to make up for it.
