Okay so I just logged onto my gyno website and signed into my name and under problems it now says "threatened abortion" why in the world would she add this and not tell me and why in the world would that be there when I haven't bled spotted nothing the only thing is that we couldn't see anything on the ultrasound! My hcg levels went from 53 last Friday 31st to 748 on Thursday so in one week they have rose that much I w.dnt think there is a problem! Has anyone's dr ever put that on their record?!???

I'm assuming that this is just what they put down for recording purposes since they have to put something for insurance so they will cover all the labs!

Thank you so much! Congrats on your baby!!! I am praying everything is okay I feel so good that its all going to be okay and they just put it down because they had to put something for recording purposes for the labs because my dr NEVER discussed anything with me to that affect!!

I had a "threatened miscarriage" with my last pregnancy cause I started spotting. They did an ultrasound and didn't see anything but a sac. I was 6 weeks if that helps, just to let you know, my little guy just turned 2 in February! So in my case it was just a label.

Liane thank you so much that was reassuring to hear!! After doing a bit of research I'm thinking maybe they did that because my progesterone level as at 12.90 as of Thursday....I would of thought they would of called if something was too low and considering on my lab results that says its within the normal range...who knows!!!

Did you call and have someone explain to you why they put that?  I am curious to see what they say about it since no one explained that to you!  My progesterone was very low when they drew my labs at 6 weeks.  I had to do progesterone suppository for 6weeks...are they going to have you take anything like that to bring it up at all?  Hope things are progressing well for you!  I would have been scared to read that without any explanation.  Are they going to give you another ultrasound at all?

I also had threatened miscarriage noted on paperwork and chart with my 1st pregnancy. When I asked the staff about it they advised it was because of the spotting I had and also due to low progesterone levels at beginning of pregnancy. This coding also allowed for them to do the additional ultrasounds needed to track the pregnancy and progress and bill insurance. Otherwise insurance would not want to pay as typically you only get 2-3 ultrasounds a pregnancy.

After talking to my dr office yesterday they explained that it is just used for coding reasons and they apologized that I was even able to see it on my end! They said everything is in normal range so no need to worry! My hcg went from 748 last Thursday to 2,493 as of Sunday
