Femara increasing Luteal phase result
My luteal phase has only been 10 days instead of the required 12. Doctor was hoping the Femara would help increase this without having to do progesterone supplements. This did not happen even though I had 2 follicles on the Femara this past month. Luteal phase was still 10 days. This month the Femara will be increased and hopefully progesterone will be given after the IUI to give me the much needed 12 days.

He didn't put me on the progesterone because my hormones are already so messed up that he doesn't want to give me any if not necessary, and my progesterone levels show good when pulled after ovulation, but are apparently dropping off too drastically. He can't figure out why my luteal phase would be so short. I'm of healthy weight, my TSH levels are good, and I'm not currently losing weight. Plan of action this month is 5mg of Femara for 5 days and progesterone for 14 days after ovulation. Hopefully this will be the magic ticket.
Yes. Last month was 2.5 mg Femara on days 3-7. I ovulated on day 18, but my follicles were only at a 9 and a 17 when measured on day 17. My cycle began on what would have been day 28 so there was a 27 day cycle for me. I opted against IUI last month since my follicles didn't show a mature size and my doctor didn't want to do progesterone because he wanted to see if the Femara alone would increase the luteal phase. This month I am taking 5 mg Femara. I will be going in on day 12 to start monitoring my follicles since there is some thought that last month the reason they were measured so small was because they were beginning to release. If measuring at maturity, we will do a second IUI and will start Prometrium 2 days after ovulation for 14 days in an attempt to increase the luteal phase. I'm sure hoping this is the magic ticket. Although, once we get my cycles worked out, we are still dealing with the low motility and sperm count.
