Let me start this off with saying that I have NEVER had fertility problems....first month trying with ALL of my kids and I got pregnant.....my first 3 were pre-WLS....I had WLS, then  6 mnths later I was pregnant with baby #4.  My period was like clockwork....before surgery and after surgery.  With my first 3 babies (they were 100% BF) my period was back at 8wks......with this baby.....we are at 13mths PP and I still have NOT had a period....only difference is my weight loss.....anyone else have issues with getting their periods back after have a post op baby?  My weight at getting preg was 155, 172 at deliver....145 2 wks pp...and I'm hoovering at 135 right now (so it's not like I'm super skinny minnie)....those 10lbs have taken me over a year to lose.....

Baby #1 (pre-op) I got my period back at 9 months, 48 hours after her last nursing (and she was only nursing once or twice a day at that point).

Baby #2 (post-op) I got my period back at 11 months, 48 hours after his last nursing (also nursing only once or twice a day for the last month or so of that).

I think it is pretty common to have no period while nursing, I think my 48 hour thing is probably a coincidence as it seems pretty unlikely.    Probably nothing to worry about.

I did not get mine until a few months after I stopped breast feeding. I think depending on your hormone level, it will vary from each one.

By chance have you taken a pregnancy test??? When we have surgery our fertility tends to jump. Just a thought.

So I will say that I am and have never been regular thanks to PCOS unless I was on BCP to regulate. After fertility treatments and having my son I breastfed him for a year and then was on a low dose BCP and still took about 6 months to get a cycle. Then it was regular thanks to the pill. I then got off to TTC #2 and not much luck but then I had PS and also lost about 10-15 more lbs and started to get regular cycles and low and behold, now preggo with #2....I think weight does have an impact but also agree you may want to take a test just in case.

I have been told that when you are breastfeeding it takes longer for your period to return.. I'm not sure from experience, since I'm pregnant with my first child now.. Just going by what my dr's have told me.. :)

Very frustrating...since I got my period back so soon with my other three.....I wouldn't be complaining....BUT....I'm no longer a spring chicken (I'm 35) and I want another baby so these two will be close in age (my first two are 12mths 1wk apart).....guess my choices are to wean or maybe start BCP's to bring on the hormones....(wonder if the mini pill would be enough to jump start my cycles again)???

Liam is one so it's not like he will go on formula, but it's just so much easier to just whip out a boob when he's hungry....easy to comfort...easy to put to sleep.....
