My dilemma is this...I'm on depo and I am due for my 3rd shot in March.. it can take up to 6-8 months to be totally out of your system....so if I dont get my March shot 6-8 months will bring me to September - November... which is perfect to start trying...time is of the essence as I am getting close to 40..need advice and stories of those who have tried or ave gotten pregnant 1 year out..some ppl said i need to wait until im 2 yr out...but i recall being told 12-18 months
You probably aren't stalling you are just ending the 6 month window of rapid weight loss where the weight just falls off--but if you are making healthy choices the weight loss will continue just at a more normal pace--we can't loose 3-5 lbs a week forever!
The idea is to be healthiest for the pregnancy and that means you aren't still loosing weight because if you are loosing weight the odds of you getting the nutrients you need isn't great. The baby will take what it needs but it could lead you with deficiencies. Not to mention I assume you had wls to loose weight forever and it takes more than 6 months to really cement new lifestyle changes--pregnancy adds more cravings, hormone swings, less restriction and if you haven't changed your behaviors permanently you could stop loosing all together.
I was told the same, 12 to 18 months. I think you should be fine, there is a lot of people who get pregnant before then. I tried and tried but I couldn't get pregnant right away so when I finally did I was 2 years out and I'm still waiting for these boys to come out. I'm 37 weeks and 3 days pregnant with twin boys and they just don't want to come out!!. . .lol. I wish you the best of luck and I hope everything goes well for you!
