Concerned
Hello All, I am new to this. Um, let's see. I'm Kylie, I'm 28 years old. I had RNY bariatric surgery in November of 2011. I am over 100 lbs down and loving it. My husband and I have an almost three-year-old son and have been wanting another baby for a few months. I think I'm pregnant now, but am soooo anxious about it. I just wanted to talk to someone who might have some insight into this. I know they say every pregnancy is different, but I don't know this new body the way I knew the old one. So I'm panicking. :-/
Hi, Kylie-
Welcome to the pregnancy boards! Unfortunately, I don't have any secrets post-RNY because we are still in the trying stage. The only thing that I can say is that my stomach (or entire tract) seems to be a little more gurgly than it was before RNY. It's not bad- like some people talk about having awful rumblings, etc. Mine is nothing like that but I have felt a flutter or two that have tricked me into being too optimistic that I was pregnant and just turned out to be digestion. :-(
I thin****il you take a positive pregnancy test, that is the only way you will really know for sure (and even at that, its possible to get a false negative but unlikely a false positive).
Where in NY are you? I am from Westchester although we just moved into CT over the summer. Best of luck- I really do hope you get a positive test!!
First off Congrats if you are preggo :0 ) and Congrats on your weight loss!!! I had RNY in March of 2010 and I am 34 weeks pregnant now with twins. This pregnancy is sooooooo much different than me pre-RNY pregnancy. I am actually healthy now and I started at a good weight so I feel good and its better for me and for the baby. When I was pregnant with my daughter before the RNY I gained almost 70 pounds. . . .70 POUNDS!!!!! thats NUTS!!!! But now that I have lost all the weight and am healthier its great.. . .I have only gained 23 pounds with this pregnancy. . .and I actually and struggling to try to gain more. . .I actually WANT to gain more since I am carrying twins, I want them to grow welll. So you are already a year out you should be fine with giving your growing baby enough nutrition by the food the you eat and just make sure that you take your vitamins EVERY SINGLE day and also it helps to take an extra folic acid and an extra calcium on top of the pre-natal vitamins. In my case with the twins I have to take my daily vites as usual and then I take another folic acid 2x a day and the babies are growing perfectly. Good luck :0 )
