Miss Shaelyn
It's been awhile again, I am terrible, but a very busy Mommy, Shaelyn is doing awesome. Can you believe that she is already six months old? I am having issues with that fact...time is moving too quickly and she is growing up fast. She has finally doubled her weight, she was 7 lbs 1 oz at birth, dipped way under 5 lbs with being so critically ill for the first 3 months of her life. Since her heart transplant back in August when she was only 6 weeks old she has being gaining and has finally hit 14 lbs 3 oz as of last Friday. She is 24 and a half inches long and a very active baby. She loves her Jumperoo and if you take her out of it before she is ready it is a total freak out, I mean tears, screaming the works. Shaelyn still isn't rolling over on her own, we actually have an infant development assessment home visit within the hour to see how she is otherwise and that she i****ting other milestones on target. The whole rolling over thing I believe is just preference, as I think it is still uncomfortable for her to be on her chest. We do the whole tummy time thing and I practice rolling her from tummy to back and back to tummy. She will roll on her own from her back to either of her sides and back again on her own. Eating is NOT and issue for Shaelyn...she loves her cereals, hates meats (for now) and has so far enjoyed sweet potatoes, we are moving on to something green this weekend probably peas (my least favorite..LOL). She is up to 6 oz bottles of formula at each feed and has cereal for breakfast and late dinner and lunch time she gets her veggie. Her dietician is thrilled with her eating schedule and with her amounts (have to chart everything for the dietician) and is really pleased with her weight gain and growth.
We went back to work on Monday, yes, I said WE. I am a school bus driver and Shaelyn gets to come with me to work. She rather enjoys the bus ride, she seems to like all the attention the children are giving her. She laughs and hams it up for them. I think they have more fun checking out her toys and playing with her. I am so glad that I can bring her with me as I don't think I could leave her with a sitter while I work. Actually I know I couldn't, I haven't let anyone babysit yet, not even Grandma. I trust people (I know) but I can't stand to be away from her. I even find it hard to leave her with Daddy....LOL Also I am the one and only who is in charge of her meds and I plan it that way, because if there is ever a screw up (I hope there never is) I am too blame, no one else. Daddy agrees that this is a good plan. Anyway enough about me and on with the spam…LOL
