BFP!!!

Hi everyone! I have been a lurker on this board for-EVAH but I've never formally introduced myself. My name is Amy and yesterday I got my first BFP! I am estimating that I am around 4 1/2 weeks, so its still super early. Im nervous, of course, and a little worried. But 3 tests cannot be wrong, right?

I have called and setup an appt with my OB, and they suggested that I start taking prenatal vitamins with folic acid.

A little background info about me: I had the sleeve in August 2010. I have done fairly well with it, although I never reached my goal weight. I am a bit heavier than I'd like to be while pregnant, but oh well! I plan on eating healthy and trying to gain as little as possible (if that is possible!)

Since this is my first pregnancy and I haven't told anyone yet, I would greatly appreciate any advice you ladies have to offer. I do have one question, should I call my sleeve doctor? Do they need to know? I haven't been to see them in over a year, so I am pretty much out of touch with them. I just didn't know if I would be missing something by not calling them.

Congratulations!  We had our sleeves done the same month.  I got pregnant 6 months post op, and I'm hoping for another BFP after this cycle.  I take two flintstones (actually target brand) every day, pregnant or not.  My labs have always been great, even right after the baby was born and I was exclusively breastfeeding.  I also take a calcium supplement, but I'm not as religious about that one.  I saw my sleeve surgeon once while I was pregnant last time, but he really didn't do much for me.  I had just had my labs done at 6 months post op, so he was more so just "on call" in case I needed anything (which I didn't).  I checked back in with him a few months after the baby was born and we checked all my levels again, everything was still good.  Neither my OB nor my surgeon had any sleeve related concerns during my pregnancy.  It was an easy and uneventful pregnancy.  I was a little above goal when I got pregnant, but I was able to gain only 18 lbs during my pregnancy and I've lost all that plus about 12 more since the baby was born (he is 14 months old now).

Good luck, everything will be great!
