Hello ladies! I have an appt on the 10th to ask my Dr about Clomid. There's a ton to my background story but basically I lost weight after rny, got pregnant and miscarried 3 times, have PCOS, I gained weight which I'm working on losing again, and Jan marks 3 years since I was last pregnant. My question is for the ladies that still needed to lose weight and were prescribed Clomid. How much weight did you still need to lose? Did Clomid work for you? How many cycles did it take you to get pregnant? Any and all information is appreciated! Thanks!!

I've lost 150 pounds. I still need to lose another 100 pounds to get to my goal weight. I also have PCOS. Iwas prescribed Clomid for roughly six months. I started out at a dosage of 50mg - didn't ovulate. I was moved to 100mg - didn't ovulate. Finally, I was moved to a dosage of 150mg in which I ovulated, but the side affects at that point were causing major temperament issues of a volatile kind so they swapped me to Femara/Letrozole. I was on that for three months before ovulating on my own (strangely enough) and getting pregnant in October with IUI. So I guess technically it took 9 cycles for me to ovulate regularly, but the month of October I believe was a frea****urrence because we were trying to control when I ovulated because my husband was going to a conference that month. We wanted to make sure I didn't ovulate until later in the month. Apparently my body had other ideas that month and ovulated the day before he left.

Thank you for your responses ladies! Congrats on your pregnancies! It's made me hopeful. Can't wait to get my appt over with and start moving along with this again! Best of luck in your pregnancies and beyond!

Clomid did not work for me. I am CLOMID resistant. Ask about femara. It works very well.

I had been told since I was 18 years old I would never have children.. I have/had PCOS, Endometrial Hyperplasia With Atypia, among others... I lost 168lbs total, (103lbs was with RNY, the other 65lbs was before surgery)... I still had 20lbs, I would have like to lost.. But I would vary between 185-189lbs, so I was alright with that... I took Clomid for 7 or 8 months, and nothing happened it did not work at all for me... Then 7 months later I conceived FINALLY!! I was not taking anything, I just used the ovulation sticks from CLEAR BLUE EASY...  So, however it did take me 12 years to finally get pregnant, but it worked :) I am now 26 weeks and 3 days pregnant... Good luck, just know to you are suppose to start out at the lowest dosage.. And if you do not get pregnant the following month the doctor is suppose to increase the dosage... It is recommended not to take more than 6 months, but you can take it more than that of course..
