If ONE more person
asks me if am "sure" I am pregnant I may explode. LOL I am just past 16 weeks and so far so good. At my last appointment at 13 weeks I was at the same weight I was at my previous appointment but all was good. I am still able to wear my regular clothes but some of my jeans are getting a tad uncomfortable. I am not complaining as one of my fears was getting too big too quick. When I was pregnant with my son in 2007 things were about the same. I attribute this to a few things...1st I am 5ft 9 inches tall and so have a longer torso area for the baby to stretch and grow out in vertically. 2nd-I had just had a Tummy Tuck in May before finding out I was pregnant in September....huge surprise to say the least as we did treatments with my son and had been trying off and on for about 3 yrs to get pregnant before deciding I would go ahead and get my plastics done. I was at/below my goal weight this time as well, had been working out, eating right, etc so contribute all this to why I am not "showing" very much--- mainly just look bloated.
I did not announce I was pregnant to the "public" until I was 14 weeks. It seems now that I have, everyone wants me to show up to work and elsewhere with this baby bump that just isn't there yet. I could exaggerate it if I really tried but figure I will have one eventually. It just makes me kinda annoyed but also paranoid and then I start getting worried that maybe the TT is effecting things. I even googled and looked up on youtube pictures and videos of people who had TT and got preggo and most are in the same boat as me with respect to how they show. In my case my muscles are really tight because I am not even a year out from plastics. One "friend" even asked me how I will enjoy the perks of being pregnant if I don't look that way...as if that is all there is to it....for me it is a healthy pregnancy and healthy and happy baby at the end of it. I have an appt on the 31st of this month so will discuss with my doctor but just curious as to if anyone else has faced similar issues.
Hey hun! Congrats!!! Just enjoy your long awaited pregnancy. People are going to think or say what they want and I am sure really they don't mean any harm . You are healthy and taking care of yourself - never a reason to blow up like a balloon when pregnant if you can help it anyways.
And . . . you will hardly show until probably the 3rd trimester after having a tummy tuck (to prepare yourself for that, you may want to look up it up and see some pics of pregnancy post tummy tuck). Just curious, did you have muscle tightening?
May God Bless you Samara. You deserve this preggo so much and I wish you a very healthy pregnancy and baby.
Best,
Leila
Thanks! I agree and did look up pics and some ladies at 9 months looked about 5 or 6 months. I had an extended TT with no muscle tightening as was not needed/required. I had been religiously working out for some time before....to include things like cardio, zumba, weights, toning so my muscles were actually in good shape but you would not have been able to tell because of the excess skin.
Ha! Good one... I have plenty....I shamelessly still take them....just for reassurance...makes me feel better....I know it is crazy but this stage is the one where symptoms fade and no movement yet so I get paranoid and their comments make it worse. Maybe I will make a pregnancy test charm bracelet or something, lol
I had no tummy tuck, this is my 3rd baby and I am almost 22 weeks and still don't look THAT pregnant--everyone just carries diffferently. I was MO with my 1st 2 pregnancies and assumed this pregnancy wearing size 4 jeans I would show much earlier and i couldn't wear regular pants by 9 weeks but I am carrying really wide.
