Clomid on board! ;)

I go back in 3 weeks and they will be able to test to see if i ovulated or not and then up the dosage IF needed. My husband is freaked that multiples (triplets especially) will result of this. I really don't think so as this is again a low dose and I REALLY DO NEED IT. Though, i must admit the thought of it makes me feel queasy and anxious, most especially in the financial dept.
For those who have taken Clomid, what was your experience? I don't know anyone personally who has taken it and no one besides my husband knows I'm taking it.
I hope all you Ttc ladies are blessed with a baby soon, I really do think if y'all often.
Best wishes,
Melanie
For me personally, Clomid did not work. I took up to the 150 mg dosage with no success. It did make me moody and irritable though and I had PMS symptoms with it. However, I have PCOS and I think that complicated things and made me resistant. What was successful for me was Femara. That in combination with some other meds is what worked for me in conceiving my son in 2007. For this one, surprise to say the least, I got pregnant without any intervention, and unplanned...lol I hope this works for you and you are soon posting of your BFP. Good Luck!
for me, clomid did not work so well. while i ovulated fine, once the dosage was upped to 150mg, the side effects were making me, for lack of a better term, crazy. i was having mood swings that defied gravity, where i hadn't had any problems before taking the clomid. the littlest things could send me into outer space at the speed of light, ie. being charged the wrong price in a check out line, etc. things that normally wouldn't phase me. the mood swings were upsetting my husband as well because we never knew what was going to trigger an episode. my doctor didn't like the mood changes and swapped me to letrozole which worked better for me and my temper returned to normal.
I took it 3 times. 50 mg twice, ovulated both times but not super well. 100 mg ovulated a little stronger. They can test your progesterone level one week after you ovulate to see how well you ovulated. I didn't get pregnant any of the 3 times I took it, but I only have one fallopian tube due to a previous ectopic pregnancy, so that wasn't helping. I didn't notice any side affects at all with moodiness etc. I have quite a few friends that got pregnant on clomid and two had twins. There is a 10% chance of twins. Triplets and higher order multiples on clomid is really rare. That usually happens with stronger meds like injectables. Good luck! I hope it works for you :)
My first preggo I used for three months then skipped one month going to 100 the following month, but low and behold, the month I skipped I got pregnant. Most likely the Clomid played a part, but didn't actually take the month I got pregnant. Also, with this baby, we were planning on only going four months and then starting Clomid if needed because I am 35, but once again, 30 days of very clean (Paleo lifestyle eating) and I was knocked up! I truly believe in this eating for fertility. I hope you do well! Stacey

I tried Clomid a few months ago and it didn't work for me. I tried it for 4 months up to the highest dose. I rarely had any mature follicles. I never had any of the bad side effects as everyone else usually have on it, maybe cause it wasn't working. I have now taken Femara for two months along with Metformin. Nothing has happened yet so my husband and I have decided not to continue fertility treatments at this time due to the cost and mental strain so we will just believe if its meant to be it will be. Good luck to you though.
Cycle 1: 100mg clomid, ovidrel shot (1mature follicle)-BFN
Cycle 2- 150mg clomid- cycle canceled (NO mature follicles)
Cycle 3- 150mg clomid, then stair stepped to 200mg clomid mid cycle dose, ovidrel shot (4mature follicles)- BFN--OHSS--bed rest remaining cycle days until AF.
1 month on BC due to cysts after ovulation.
Cycle 4- 7.5mg letrolzole/femera, ovidrel shot (1 mature follicle)- I'm in my TWW now.
I hope you get your BFP!
What's so frustrating in my whole process is I'm not over weight anymore. The whole reason for my rny was to get to healthy weight and to be able to get pregnant easier and have a healthy pregnancy.
My goal/dream has been to have a baby by age of 25. That goal is now not possible, so I changed it to at least be pregnant by my 25th birthday which is January 5!!! I'm praying this letrolzole cycle worked!
i tried 2 rounds of clomid, had some side effects, mostly hot flashes and nausea. the first round was ok, 1 mature egg, no preganancy. 2nd round i was anovulatory and needed provera to start my period. femara worked better for me producing several mature eggs but still didn't get pregnant. i thought trips with clomid was rare if you are being monitored? lots of luck to you!
