Hi guys, had a quick question, those of you ladies who have used the depo post op, how did it treat you? Some people say that it made them add weight. is this true, did you gain weight, loose weight, or stay the same? and what about acne did you get it bad or did it not cause any change with your skin? and has any one tried that 5 year plan that is supposedly inserted under your arm? would really appreciate your responses thanks love you all.

I did depo for the first 3 months after and it made me crazy according to my husband I hated it it made me break out I did loose weight with it but I don't feel that I lost as much as I could have without it so I switched to the pill.

I have to chime in and say that I LOVED my Mirena! I will say I gained about 6 lbs in water weight, but that was worth it for me because the hormones in the shot and the pill make me nutso. I wll get Mirena again after this baby.

I loved my depo shot. I did not gain weight, I lost weight. I didn't suffer from any acne, my skin is pretty pristine. It doesn't do anything with my hormones, I don't feel crazy. It's super convenient! You get a shot in your butt that slowly disperses the hormone (from the muscle) over time. You can hardly feel the shot and you bum is bit sore a few days after, but nothing that distracts you. I spotted and had weird periods that lasted 2wks for the first 4 months, every month got better. Now I don't have any periods. Every woman is different. I don't do well with estrogen based BC, it is absolutely horrible for me! So I decided depo a few times then stop because I want to get pregnant. I plan to try getting pregnant this late spring/summer. I stopped my depo this month.

I also was debating the arm method but heard you spot all the time. So it was a no go. I didn't want to get the IUD's becuase I had never had children and I didn't want a long term method. I have also heard good things about the NUVA ring:) Good luck in your choice and remember if one doesn't work well for you just switch:)

I heard the arm one was only 3 years?

Mirena is 5 i believe and paragard is 10, am i correct?
