6 1/2 months update. . .a little scare
So I'm 26 weeks and 4 days preggo today with my twin boys. My OB and the MFM doc have been checking my cervix becuase for some reason it has been getting shorter. . . so Tuesday I had a routine appointment to check the length again and the MFM sent me straight to the hospital! He said that my cervix got shorter and not just a little bit, a lot shorter. At the hospital they hooked me up to monitor the babies heartbeats and it turns out that I have been having contraction for the past few weeks. This whole time I just thought it was the babies flipping around because that's really just what it felt like for me, so at this point I was freaking out a little and getting worried. A midwife came in to check me and said that my cervix was still closed so that was good, but they decided to give me a steroid shot to help the boys lungs develop . . .just in case they decide to come early and they asked me to go back again the next day to have an FFN test and another steroid shot. Thankfully the FFN test came back negative, which means that these boys are not coming within the next two weeks. They still gave me another steroid shot for the lungs and let me know that I will have to go on complete bed rest, no walking around, no work, no stress. So its been two days and I'm already getting a little bit of cabin fever. . .lol. But I have to do whats best for the twinks. I go back on Wednesday to the MFM for another measurement of my cervix. I'm still having these mild contractions but they only come when I get up. .and I gotta get up to go to the bathroom and get stuff to eat. . lol. My OB is just hoping that these babies will stay in the oven until at least 34 weeks but we'll see. I hope they stay in as long as possible. Wish me luck everyone
