And here we go again!

So we had a consult with a new RE today!  In 2009/2010 I had 6 treatment cycles (3 with IUI/injectables) with a previous RE and got an unexplained IF diagnosis.  After a 2nd opinion told me that losing weight may help (duh), I decided to get serious and had the sleeve in September 2011.  We went to the new dr. today to talk about what our next ste******ce au natural is not working still.

I have to have a repeat HSG test (oh joy) on cycle day 6-10 of this next cycle (should be around December 16-20), more Day 2 bloodwork to test for AMH (I only tested for FSH before, didn't know to do the AMH as well), and the hubby needs a repeat SA.  I asked her if everything came back normal like it did last time, what would her recommendation be and she said based on my age (I'll be 37 in february) and previous treatment history she would go right to IVF.  We're looking at a Feb. time frame.

While I'm happy to be moving forward in the baby making plans, I have so many emotions going on (and I'm not even on the drugs yet!).  I'm angry I have to do this with no reason, I am sad, and I'm impatient and just want it to work already.

After we do the tests we will have another consult to confirm if it's IVF for the next step (but she's leaning toward it so I am prepping myself) and see what protocol.  I really liked my old RE but my husband didn't and he wanted to try someone new.  I agreed and I'm kind of glad because she seems like she is aggressive with treatment and I don't think the old one would be as aggressive.  Her main goal is getting me pregnant as it should be.

So that's my story.  Any other IF ladies out there?

Glad you have some forward motion - at least you are not "stagnant" so to speak!!  So that is positive!  I know how frustrating this is.....hang in there!

I am thinking about you!!!

I understand how you feel after 5 years ttc Im ready for it to be my turn. I have a dx of pcos and had the sleeve to help but at almost a year out I haven't been taking any prevention precautions, by my own choice as its hard to try and stop something u have waited so long for, and I'm still not able to conceive. I wish u luck in your journey and a happy ending for both of us

Hi Linsey,

Sorry it hasn't happened naturally for you yet.  Have you went to a reproductive endocrinologist yet?  What does your regular ob/gyn say?

We WILL have happy endings!

Haven't seen a RE since Wls since I'm not a year out they won't help yet, but before surgery I did many rounds of clomid because I never ovulated and had 90-150 day cycles without medication. I started ovulation on my own in August after loosing the majority of my extra weight. My hubby goes into the dr in jan for a sperm work up to make sure everything is ok with him before moving onto a RE after my one year in feb.

That's terrific that you ovulated on your own in August!  I know the weight loss can definitely aid with any ovulation issues and regulating your period.  Hopefully it's a minimal wait for you and everything is good with your husband and you get pregnant quickly!  I check in around once a week if you want to privately message me to keep in touch and let me know how you are doing.  Lots of luck to you and February is right around the corner!
