i follow this tumblr page which belongs to a friend of a friend. i don't know her personally but i know of her. i see her post on my friend's fb a lot. i love seeing pics of her daughter and reading about her trials and tribulations raising a now toddler. anyway i was on there yesterday and i was looking at all the stuff she had on her main page whi*****luded a cool video of her belly progression week by week during pregnancy. and a monthly photo of her baby from birth to 1 yr old. but i noticed she had a birthing story, so i read it. wow! the similarities between her and i are astounding. as far as are mental attitudes go and our desires for a certain kind of birthing experience. i wanted to share bc its got such great detail and it was really cool for a first time mom to get the nitty gritty truth.

here's the thing. i kinda wish i hadn't read it! lol. i swear before i read this i was blissfully ignorant and naive. happily excited to go into this adventure. now i just keep thinking about how any pain will just get worse and worse. so i kind of wish i was still ignorant. and also, this girl is a ******g runner. super athletic. she runs marathons!! i'm a fat ass who doesn't work out. how the hell is my body going to get through this? i'm thinking about my leg muscles. also this damn carpal tunnel **** i've gotten in the last 2 weeks isn't gonna help. ugh.

Great story... probably not the kind you should be reading this close to your own delivery though, lol.

Not gonna lie, it is pain like no other, but at least for the first child you have just no idea how much worse it will get before it is over :)  Second child brings back all the painful memories and immediately starts the "why did I sign up to do this again?" thoughts, haha.  But, also true, is the fact that once it is over, the pain stops immediately and then you're holding your beautiful baby and you're right back to thinking "I'd do this all again in a heartbeat"!

Good luck, you'll do great!  It is amazing what our bodies are capable of.  After getting a less than perfect delivery the first time around, it really made me appreciate this sentiment even more when my second delivery was so "easy".  Can't wait to read your birth story... SOON :)
